"I went to return a pair of sneakers to Shoe Show in Newport, SC today because they were too wide for my son. My plan was to get another pair, so gave sales associate the pair to return with receipt while I looked around. While looking, the associate came up to me and asked if pair I was returning had been worn. I told her no. She said they looked worn and couldn’t take them back. The bottoms were white and she showed me bottoms that did have a slight brown appearance. Tags were still on them and otherwise no other sign of wear. I told her again they weren’t worn but did have my son try them on when I brought them home. I had him walk around for no more than 30 seconds, which I always do when not with me at store to try on to see if fit. She said looked worn so couldn’t take back. Knowing my child had never actually worn the shoes, I got upset, took the shoes and walked out. I know she was just doing her job but being a person that would never lie and return worn shoes it really made me mad. Honestly, with the swipe of a wet paper towel or magic eraser the dirt would have come off. However, since a couple minutes to try wasn’t an option I will never go back to Shoe Show again and spend my money when plenty of other places to get shoes."
