"So the first time I came here I was sharing a room with a coworker so I didn't feel the need to leave a review. Now that I stayed her by myself I will give a review. First thing I know the area is kind of sketchy. They do have some people at times that like to linger around the area. But it's not just this hotel it's all the ones next to them as well. I had read reviews about some of their staff being nothing by unpleasant. I think people have mention a person named Alex. I never met them. I however met I believe her name is Gia and she was amazing. From start to finish I enjoyed my time talking to her. She kind of had a weird individual that was talking to her so he kind of kept me from staying longer. But she was so pleasant to deal with. Her customer was amazing and I hope others get to have a pleasurable experience from her. I wish I could've seen her before I left, but I didn't. However the room was a little different. Obviously a lot of what people talked about was visible. And to keep from getting the charges that people claim that they got I took a ton of pictures. My only real issue with the room was my door was hard to close. I had to slam it to keep it closed. I hope they fix this room door. I was nervous they would try to blame me for this and other damage. I will admit the PTAC had one setting. Really hot. I was sweating like crazy. So if you like a warm room you'll have it. I had to keep turning it off because it was way too hot. I would recommend this hotel for a room on a budget. One of my bed lights was burnt out so I had to leave my bigger light on. Also the vent over the toliet seems like it hadn't been cleaned in a year. So their cleaning staff might want to work on that. It's not a hard thing to clean. The breakfast was okay but I hated how they didn't have a juice bar. All they have is water and coffee. Would've been nice to have some OJ. Unfortunately my first day the eggs and sausage were overcooked."
"When we paid for our stay, we were then told there is a $100 damage deposit ($200 for locals) and we would get the money back IF there was no damage. When we get to our room, the door wouldn't open. After several attempts, the maintenance man FINALLY opened the door from the inside and said we were given the wrong room. He put us into a new room that had several damages. The space between the door and wall had an insane amount of cold wind blowing through, trim hidden by the curtains was demolished, the valance was disgustingly filthy, the toilet would rise to the rim before flushing and water pressure in the sink was extremely low. Breakfast wasn't something to brag about. We still have yet to recieve our damage deposit. We left a note of damages before our arrival."
"The room was actually quite nice. It was both clean and attractive. However there was no insulation around the room door. It was a cold night and the breeze coming around the door was both forceful and cold. The heater in the room was no match. I jammed a towel in the top of the door, rolled one at the bottom of the door, hung my jacket on the door handle and then braced it all with the room ironing board. I travel to Morganton once a month and have always stayed at this Quality. If I stay there again I will carry a roll of wide masking tape. The video below shows the breeze after my efforts to stop it."
"When they release your deposit, they won't tell you that there are damages in the room. I checked my room before I left and there were no damages done but apparently one of the fitted sheets was damaged and they charged me $50 for it. When I called and asked why my deposit hadn't gone back into my account, they told me that $50 of it had been taken for a damage. And when I asked what damage all they told me is if it was a fitted sheet. I asked multiple times what the damage was done to the sheet and they refused to answer me. They kept skirting the question. I had reserved twice and when I went for my second reservation, the manager told the girl that she would have to release my first deposit and do a new deposit. But when I called to ask why my deposits hadn't been released, they told me that they only pulled once even though on my account shows twice and the manager flat out told the girl to pull twice. The manager said that he had never done that when in fact, I know he had because I was there. Rooms were fine. Location great. Customer service sucked. They are also rude as hell if you come to talk to them anytime after 7pm. The early morning young girl was pleasant but other than that... terrible"
