Reviews of Lakeshore Park
"My family loves Lakeshore Park. The views are heavenly, the playgrounds are so fun, and the walking trails are nice. The flowers are beautiful. The little marble church is so unique and beautiful. It's a must if you're in Knoxville."
"Awesome park, love it so much! By far, one of my favorite parks in Knoxville. The views are wonderful from the top of the hill, especially at sunset. Beautiful, open landscapes and paved trails to take a nice stroll. Great outdoor/indoor gazebo type area for events (most commonly used for weddings) - no wonder! because it's so beautiful! Lots of parking areas. Also, very family/kid-friendly, has a nice playground. Totally recommend, you won't be disappointed. (photos were taken last fall, but you get the idea)"
"Great park for walking! This park has both hilly terrain as well as flat surface, which is optimal for those who have strollers or wheel chairs and prefer a flatter surface to walk. The surface of the trail is generally well paved and smooth. The hills are great for those wanting more of an incline to intensify their walk or jog The scenery is breathtaking!! Whether on the trail or near the water, the views are spectacular. Paved parking. The grounds are very well maintained, clean and well kept. There are also two diff playgrounds. A smaller one with mulch and a large play area that has no mulch. Which is great for parents! Lol. Lovely place for some solitude, fun time with family, or a great workout."
"We were only in Knoxville overnight. We picked up lunch and wanted to eat outside because it was such a beautiful day! My husband asked if there was a good place to sit outside and someone recommended this park and I am so glad they did! It is wonderful. It felt like acres of rolling green, people on blankets and picnic baskets. There was a perfect pavilion to sit and have some coffee and just soak in the moment. The children’s play area looked so ideal, it was nice to see kids playing and enjoying life. I suggest walking down to the lake. There is a path and a few benches. Take a book, find a spot. This park is a must! PS My husband and I were debating about the home on the top of the hill and I asked an employee that was on a golf cart near the public restrooms and she told me it used to be a mental institution and now the administrative offices. Yikes! For those of you that like to look into the history of a place. Maybe do some research of your own."
