"I joined the YWCA for the pool, but they offer so much more than that! I love the welcoming people and the mission-driven work. I feel so comfortable in the space that I've been able to branch out into new workout routines that I often felt too overwhelmed to try at other gyms. The group fitness offerings are great, too."
"The YW is the place to be! The weight room is more modest than some other gyms, but it has everything you need, and it’s only a piece of what makes this place special. You will not find a more hospitable and welcoming crew. There are so many resources available to the community here, and everyone wants to be helpful. Always clean too!"
"So far everyone has been very kind and welcoming. I haven't used all facilities yet, just aquatics. The overall facility is clean albeit a bit dated but that was to be expected. I didn't join for a bright, shiny, new facility, I joined because of the values the YWCA holds."
"As with the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium, this is an Asheville location sorely in need of renovation, if not complete replacement. It's always packed and the facilties are simply not large enough to comfortably accomodate everyone. The weight training options are minimal and usually involve a wait. The ventilation is poor and a musty smell abounds. The lap pool of only four lanes is usually too cold and you'll always be sharing a lane, and usually waiting to do that. The staff is great, though, and doing the best they can given the circumstances."
