"I loved having our wedding here in October 2019. Sunset Gatherings was the perfect venue for our Medieval themed wedding and Laura was a great hostess for our more casual, laid back event! We felt so comfortable there and the venue was truly perfect for my DIY wedding as you can really make it work for your own style! Laura was so accommodating and open (she even left the pool open a week late for us to do a surprise pool event on our big day!) If you're looking for a beautiful, flexible venue and personalized experience, Sunset Gatherings is a great option!"

"My husband I live in KY. We have family in NC & KY. Burnsville was the perfect location to bring everyone together. We visited the venue in the winter. We fell in love with Sunset Gatherings. The cabins were awesome too. We knew immediately this was the place for us. We set our date for the following May. I must say, I was uncertain about planning a wedding from out of state. Months passed, & our planning went smoothly. As May 2017 grew closer, I relied a lot on Laura & Christine. They put in a significant amount of work to ensure all details were exactly what I wanted. They were both available anytime I needed them. It rained the entire week before my wedding. When you choose an outdoor venue, you know good weather isn't guaranteed. Both ladies reassured me that we would still have the wedding of our dreams. They had to work through rain, wind & cold temperatures, early morning & late nights, to bring everything together the day of our wedding. We had an amazing wedding. It rained off & on. It was colder than expected. But the grounds were beautiful. The staff were there to welcome our guest, provide heat, dry the seating for the ceremony. They handled each of our venders. Thank you Laura & Christine! We plan to visit for years to come."

"If you are looking for a place to have a picnic or a family reunion go for it, but if you are looking for a wedding venue keep looking. I am in the wedding business and I know how important it is for everything to be perfect for the bride and STRESS free for her wedding day. All I can say is if you think your dreams will come true here it will be a nightmare. Fake people, fake promises and most of all the most unprofessional owner and so called wedding planner I have ever seen. Please keep looking there are so many beautiful places out there at a great price."

"If you want the best wedding day of your dreams.....DO NOT use Sunset Gatherings!!! Laura and Christine were extremely unprofessional and did NOT tell the truth with many things they promised. The website was very misleading. The tent for the outdoor wedding, was not the one in the photo. The tent that was provided was basically a canopy with no sides to protect guests in case of bad weather or wind. We were even told it had blown over. The package paid for was for 100 guests, there was no way that would fit inside of that tent and be able to protect guests from bad weather. Christine says she was a wedding coordinator, that got paid a fee, and there were very few things she got correct. Communication was impossible which lead to MANY tears from the bride. This was heartbreaking to watch. The owner Laura, and her coordinator Christine, had very poor communication between each other and the bride and groom. The way we were treated and talked to was unbelievable. We were yelled at by Laura and rude emails were sent. There was another bride getting married the day before our wedding which caused conflict with rehearsal and setting up. We were told multiple times to "check with the other bride" on what she was doing. I was under the impression that the money my son and his bride paid was THEIR money, for THEIR wedding day. We had rain on the wedding day and parking was muddy. The water ran down the road like a river. The bride had to step out in the mud and clean off her feet and shoes. The venue was a beautiful place, but the two people who run it caused a lot of stress and tears. Watching the bride cry is not how you expect to plan one of your most special days. I would not recommend having a wedding at Sunset Gatherings. It was one of the worst experiences. We had the ceremony by the river in the rain, and choose another venue on a 72 hour notice for reception because the venue, tent (canopy), Laura and Christine... could NOT accommodate us!!!"

"An absolutely breathtaking venue. They have a great space for weddings of all sizes. They also have really nice bathrooms which is something you don't always see at tucked away venues like this one. I especially loved the creek in the background."
