Reviews of Showcase Design Kitchen & Bath Renovations
"Worked with Jill at Showcase Design K&B to give our kitchen a facelift and I absolutely love the results. Jill helped me to pick out all the materials, even accompanying me to the granite showroom. She was patient when I couldn’t make up my mind and guided me towards what she knew would look and work best in our space. Her team was professional, courteous and finished the job surprisingly fast. We are so pleased with our beautifully updated kitchen that we are currently working on another project with the Showcase team. Highly recommend Jill and her team!!"
"NOTE: We have an active pending lawsuit against Showcase Design. We hired Showcase Design to renovate a master bathroom for us in October 2023. We had high hopes for working with them at the time, because we believed their higher pricing reflected the quality of work we were expecting. We mutually agreed to terminate our contract part way through the project due to a variety of issues that made us uncomfortable with continuing to work with them. I have listed a few of the key issues below: There were numerous communication issues all throughout the project. Starting with the quote process, Jill could not keep the details of our project straight, and had to make multiple revisions to our quote (each time taking several days to sometimes a few weeks). When the work began, there were three people who were in charge at once (Jill, Ray, and Travis). They did not communicate with each other, causing multiple incidents of confusion and frustration. When we would ask for Ray's opinion on a detail of the project, he often responded: "we'll do whatever you want". While at the time we felt reassured hearing those words, we later found out through Jill that there were fees associated with certain requests that we had no reason to believe would cost us extra. Travis would say he would do something on an agreed upon date, not show up, and not follow up. On several occasions I had to contact Jill to ask when and if Travis was going to show. One of Showcase's employees damaged our hardwood stairs when he slipped on floor coverings they had laid down. We later found out that typically for hardwood stairs, Showcase (and most other contractors) lay down a covering that has rubber grips underneath to hold the coverings in place. Thankfully, the employee was uninjured. However, not only were many employees going up and down those steps, but my husband and I were working from home and using those same stairs as well. Although Ray tried to blame our stairs for being particularly slippery, if that were the case, it was even more reckless and negligent for Ray and Showcase to knowingly lay hazardous coverings on our stairs. When we brought some of these many issues to Jill's attention, her response was very unprofessional. Her reply was overwhelmingly emotional, personal, and generally did not address our concerns. During an in-person discussion, Showcase acknowledged and addressed a few of the issues. However, we walked away still feeling uncomfortable with the idea of having them back in our house. We then decided to mutually agree to terminate our contract. After ending our contract, we had to find other contractors to finish the job. Through conversations with a number of other contractors, we learned about several instances of poor advice and poor workmanship from Showcase. For example, Showcase suggested we use a wall tile on the shower curb. Many contractors and vendors we spoke to strongly disagreed with this suggestion, as using a wall tile for this purpose can quickly lead to cracks and leaks. Some contractors also pointed out that Showcase did not properly waterproof nail holes, put up a punctured backerboard, and improperly sloped the shower floor, preventing drainage."
"I've worked with Jill and co. across multiple projects including a full kitchen renovation. She has been wonderful to work with and very accommodating to my work schedule for making appointments and times the craftsmen can come over to work on the renovation. She has an eye for color choices and hiring craftsman for the job having several gems under her employ. It can be nerve wracking for home owner to find a trusted company these days but I've had nothing but a positive experience with her and the Showcase Design crew. Other projects I've hired her company for include removing and painting the popcorn ceiling from my home, repainting the walls, and replacing old water pipes and a water heat under the crawl space. There is much this company can do and more all for a very fair market price. The peace of mind alone knowing the work will be done at high-quality is worth the price and more. TL:DR I've attached photos of the kitchen renovation for a galley style kitchen. Decide for yourself if you want to redo your own kitchen or bash my eclectic taste, I'll be enjoying my new kitchen either way. Thank you again Jill!"
"Update, September 2023: Jill called us back and expained why she was unavailable for a while. We understand. It happens to everyone. They do great work, I hope they get active again and continue the work. We met with Jill and had a great design session. Then she sent out 2 guys to our house to review the work (redo 2 bathrooms and extend a closet). They took measurements and said they'd have a design & estimate in 2-3 weeks. They charged us $50 for the house call. We were excited and expecting an estimate for the work. Then......they took a while to contact us back."
"Tom is just amazing. Our family was on a tight budget and he helped us to make the right choices within the budget that we were hoping for. We had gotten several quotes and estimates from about 7-9 different places, but Showcase Design was the best for the quality and the price. Our home project had started in June, and everyone followed the safety precautions. I highly recommend them. Jill was also very helpful."
