"I love Zily the nail bar. I won’t go anywhere else ! My nails look fabulous every time"
"The worst customer service you could ever imagine. Spent 3+ hours in this salon last week because my nails kept getting messed up from a matte top coat (not the nail techs fault, but the UV light had some lights out) so we ended up forgoing the matte (after re-doing them for a second time) because it was getting late. I tried to give it a few days but ended up messaging their account on Instagram and was told to come back in and they would happily fix them. I made an appointment for 5:30 that night to get them redone. They finally took me at 6:15 and the guy asked “what nail is chipped?” And I explained none were chipped, they just didn’t look good (bumps, different polish brands on each hand so one hand had a shimmer and the other didn’t, not what I wanted, etc). They just looked messy. He kept telling me it wasn’t the techs fault, they were also there 3+ hours with me the other night, I was “happy” when I left. To which I explained I wasn’t happy, but I had been there for so long and just wanted to leave. I asked if we could just take this color off (because I only wanted this specific color with the matte top coat) and he laughed and said no. He kept asking me what I wanted, to which I showed him the matte picture I originally showed last week. At one point he was so being so condescending and I asked why he was giving me such a hard time. I explained again that I paid a lot of money and spent a lot of time, and just wanted my nails to look good. He finally ended up buffing out the ones that had bumps and added the matte top coat which worked out fine. At the end he started talking about “next time” to which I told him I would not be coming back here. Such a simple issue that could have been resolved so quickly, but he insisted on being extremely rude and beyond unprofessional. This was my favorite nail salon in the area and I will not be returning. Update: this is the owner’s version of “fixing my nails” - already chipping."
"I came in today as a walk-in. I never treat myself to salon experiences but since I’m 3 weeks away from having a baby I decided to splurge on my feet that I can no longer reach. Chris took care of me and was absolutely wonderful to me. He thoughtfully helped me select the perfect color and made sure I was happy with every step of the process. His conversation was pleasant and he made me feel like a truly valuable client. If I do have salon services again I will 100% come back to Zily and will definitely be requesting Chris!!!"
"I don’t get my nails done often, so when I do go it’s quite a treat. I took my daughter with me for a spa day and I couldn’t have been more impressed with the kindness of the staff and the quality of service. I got a gel manicure (done by Alaina, who did phenomenal!) that ended up lasting 2 days shy of 3 weeks before one nail started to chip. I went in to get the gel removed and the process was so quick and easy. Tiffany was so kind and made my natural nails look even better than before. This is my new go-to and the place I will refer all my friends to!"
"This review is a few months overdue, however, I believe I needed the time to gather my thoughts and cool off. It is a long post, so I will summarize my main points here: - wrong color (blue not purple) - Three hour experience - Polish turned brown - Had to return the following day - SNS nail fell off after 7 days - Manager wasn’t friendly I gave three stars because my prior experiences were positive. To read the full story: I went to Zily to get SNS dip nails monthly for an entire year. During that year, I rarely requested a nail tech because I felt they should all be able to offer the same quality of work. My nails were rarely complicated - I chose one to three colors and never needed a design. After awhile, I ended up with the same nail tech six months in a row, and she was great! She always knew how I was feeling and what I liked. I really enjoyed her. I was planning to get one final manicure and treat myself to a pedicure for my upcoming graduation. I assumed I would have the same tech, so, like always, I didn’t request anyone. Unfortunately, a large party arrived before me, and my regular nail tech was busy, so I was seated with another nail tech who seemed upbeat. Because I’ve never done a mani/pedi with Zily in the past, I didn’t know what to expect. This was my experience: Pedicure: - I chose the colors (purple and gold) for both regular toe polish and SNS for my fingers - The tech asked me if I was doing the same color on my nails, and I showed him a picture - He told me he would find a better color for me - a dip/ regular polish ‘set’ - He proceeded to look for colors for an hour while my feet soaked - When he finally chose the colors, I approved them, but didn’t realize they were dark blue in the light (not purple) - He did the pedicure and we moved to do my fingers Manicure - The nail tech took two hours on my SNS polish - I showed him the pattern: dark purple, gold, light purple, gold, dark purple - He did a layer of each color, and I thought to myself: the other tech typically did lightest first and glitter last. I never said anything aloud - By the end, I had glitter that made its way onto the other nails and dark purple tips on the light purple nails. - The tech apologized and applied a gel layer over the lighter nails to correct the coloring - I paid and left In total, the experience lasted three hours. When I arrived home, I stood in the sun to admire my nails. That’s when I realized 1) they were blue (not purple) and 2) my toes were… brown! Apparently the toe polish was old and had separated in the bottle. With the indoor lighting, it was hard to see before I left. I called Zily, and they had me come in the following day to correct the color. When I arrived the next day, the same nail tech helped me out. He seemed a bit flustered but really tried to correct the color. Obviously, it wasn’t his fault - the polish was old. The nail tech attempted to fix the color by: - using the same polish (still brown) - Adding black (it was now black) - And then adding a bright blue (which now looked navy with the black underneath) My experience with the manager is what really turned me off… I told the nail tech that I wasn’t really satisfied - since they were supposed to be purple, and he went to his manager to ask if he could redo it. The manager seemed flustered and came over to me. He looked at the nails and told me, “This is quality work and the color is fine. You should accept this. It matches your nails - it’s the same blue.” I tried to clarify that the color was supposed to be purple, but I didn’t want to cause a scene. Instead, I just thanked them and left. While the nails were pretty and the tech tried his best, the quality was not there. The overall experience was adequate but took three hours. The colors I requested were not what I received. In addition, after a week, one of the nails came completely off - SNS and all. I didn’t want to go back three times in a week. The cost of the mani/pedi did not equal the quality of work I received. Unfortunately, I have not returned since."
