Reviews of Armstrong's
"This is basically a dive bar with food. They allow smoking inside so just keep that in mind. Overall, the food is good, and for being a dive bar, it is good for what it is."
"I didn't have time to eat here, but I did have a couple of beers in the middle of the afternoon. Don't judge me for daydrinking. Dino didn't. Dino ran the bar and the kitchen while I was there. He was the only one working, but it was slow. There's a service window with a warning sign, imploring people not to speak to Dino through said window lest they "regret it." I believe the sign. Armstrong's is what I imagine a bar from the 1970s looks like. Wood paneling on the walls. Wooden liquor shelves. A corkboard in a frame with pictures of regulars hanging on the wall. The light fixture behind the full-service bar looks like a proton. Cigarette smoke, two pool tables, and a dart board. Y'all: I ain't mad. This place feels right. I bet that on weekend nights, that place is a heller. Loud music and booze, pickup trucks and motorbikes, best friends and bad decisions. Why not five stars? Because they didn't have my beer on draft. I know that"s picky, but it had been a hell of a day and I had The Thirst. Nobody's fault but mine, I reckon. I'll go back. Probably in the afternoon. Again. I'll get some cheesesticks and bring some quarters for Golden Tee. And I'll wait for the regulars to come in at night, because I need to be there when that happens. I hope nobody acts bad toward Dino, but I don't think they will. I get the impression you just don't do that at Armstrong's. That's how it should be."
"Little hometown bar. Mostly locals go here to drink, hangout, play darts and play pool. Fun place to visit, just as always watch your surroundings and be safe wherever drinking somewhere! Good food and good fun!"
"First time coming here and I have a new favorite place to grab a drink and a bite!! The bartender is super nice and the prices are unbeatable; two large TVs to watch the UT game, and the service is still QUICK! Food suggestion: the pick 3 appetizer with mini corn dogs, fried mushrooms, and potato skins. Cooked to perfection for only $8! Drink suggestion: Liquid Marijuana: sweet and delicious, perfect for sipping. The customers are all so nice, too. This is the perfect bar for people who prefer a calmer, not clubby, experience. I love it!"
"If you're looking for a fine dining experience, this isn't it. If you're looking for somewhere to go after work to have a few beers, grab a bite to eat while you're shooting pool, or somewhere you can smoke while you're playing darts, this is it. Since they do allow smoking inside, if you're allergic, don't go. You will smell like a smokey bar when you leave. I got the grilled club sandwich, and it was pretty good, but some of the meat was a little fatty. The french fries were perfect. I should have had a beer, because the coke was a little flat. The bartender was very friendly and attentive and he also prepared my food. The pool tables are a $1 each to play, and they seem to be level & the stick I used was straight. I'm not sure if I would go back, just because of the smoking, but if you're a smoker and you enjoy darts and pool, check it out."
