"I would like to start out by saying I definitely found my forever stylist, emily is amazing at what she does and is very professional and honest. I showed her a picture of the blonde I wanted and she gave me exactly that. I’m so happy with the color and cut. The salon is beautiful and the owner and staff make you feel very comfortable and welcomed."
"Amy did my hair for the second time this morning. The first time I could tell she knew her way around a pair of scissors but one side was noticeably longer then the other. So I gave her a second chance. My second cut by Amy was not great. I showed her pictures of the cut I wanted and have actually had previously. Both times she cut my hair, instead of looking at the lines of the cut and how it was layered I came out with a cut I'm beginning to regard as the southern layered cut. There are many layered styles but seems like there is only one layered cut hairdressers seem to give in this area. Where I come from fine shops have stylists that keep abreast of different styles and techniques, attend hair shows, and maintain a wide repertoire of styles in which they are proficient. I certainly don't mind paying for a quality cut but find $50 for a scheduled half hour cut of this quality objectionable. That's $100 an hour. I have a Master's degree and didn't make that after 25 years on the job! I was required to attend regular professional training for far less money.sorry, Amy, I expected far more. In response to your rebuttal i"d love to post pictures of the style I showed Amy versus what I left the salon with. The cut I got was a very typical layered cut I see on others and have received many times in South Carolina. Not the cut I showed (picture) to Amy. I wish I could show you the comparison. I showed her a style that was a deep point cut, angled around the face, collar length. I got straight across bangs, nape length, no point cutting. As a result of no point cutting my layers are choppy without a lot of styling and hair spray. Although there are a variety of skill levels in any area for stylists, the skill of stylists in the better shops that I used up north was excellent. But, then again limiting a wash, cut, style to a half hour could be the problem. You also didn't mention continued training, hair shows, etc. Well, doesn't matter to me. I won't be back."
"Amy is an amazing stylist! Cutting, coloring, extensions, hair loss replacement…you name it! Some people need to have their reviewing capabilities revoked! Using the fact you have a masters degree to degrade someone is low, it also doesn’t make anyone better or smarter than the other. I can say this if I was displeased with my haircut, I probably wouldn’t go back for a second appointment. Amy keep doing what you’re doing! That’s why your salon is rated top 5 in the area! ❤️"
"I simply can NOT believe the review that I just read!! I've gone to Amy for well over 25+ years and have "yet" to be disappointed in cut OR color. We moved to Sarasota, FL for over 13 years and I asked Amy to help me find someone that could make me happy with my hair! She knows...I want stylish & chic! She attended classes with one of the most prestigious salon owners in Sarasota, FL and she told me to contact them, which I did. Amy will go above and beyond to help any client - I've seen this first hand!! And the comment about southern layers.... first of all, that's no term.... that's a "slap in the face" and I take offense to that! Maybe going back "home" up north would be a good thing for her..... sounds like she's worn her welcome out down here! If a person has an issue, it's the duty of that person to address the issue and not let it "fester" into ugliness. Hiding behind a screen, in my opinion.... is cowardly."
"Stopped into this shop for impromptu introduction, appointment availability and color Q&A with stylist Sarah J. on weekend. Rates were quoted by Sarah and we set appt. for later in the week. During the appt. Sarah offered extending “partial highlight” service into “full highlight “ service for additional fee because she had available window of time. I gladly agreed and paid extra + tip. Once home and chance to personally style my hair, I saw heavy / dark patches with no blending underneath backside of hair. I reached out the the next day with pictures (see attached) requesting to “revisit the dark areas “ but Sarah had list of 3-4 reasons that it was not her problem but it would cost me EXTRA to have highlights corrected or at least evened out. Not what I consider “customer service” for $225. No plans to visit again or recommend this salon."
