"This is an old (8 months ago) review but wanted to warn that unless things have changed, you might want to shop elsewhere. Had Flooring Gallery install a wool stairway runner ($1,088 and beautiful!). Unfortunately the stairs needed to be refinished and the carpet removed and reinstalled. Worked with John at the time who told us this could be done without any problems. Flooring Gallery sent over independent subs to do the work and the runner was destroyed when removing it. Called Bill at Flooring Gallery (John no longer working there) and Bill informed us there was nothing he could do about it but offered us a discount on another remnant at approximately $800 (plus the fee of $159 to "remove" the original runner)."
"I was initially impressed with the selection at the Flooring Gallery, and the friendliness of the sales associate. They were prompt to come to my home to measure, and for a quote. That was the last time I experienced prompt service from the Flooring Gallery. I paid for the materials, and they were delivered about 8 days later. Initially, I was told that the installer was "aware of my order" and they had asked him to "keep it in mind" so that there was room in his schedule to install once the flooring came in. I reached out for an update on the flooring, and was told that it had been delivered; however, the installer wouldn't be able to come and do the work until almost 2 weeks later. Once the installer came to drop off the flooring to acclimate, I discovered that he had no idea I wanted the tile in the foyer area to be replaced with the hardwood as well, despite me discussing this during the initial measurement/estimate. I was then referred to Bill, who was to sort it out. I called on Thursday, he said he would give me a quote to have the tile replaced as well on Friday. On Friday, I called again, and he said he would have a quote for me on Saturday. Today is Monday, and the installers came and ripped up the existing flooring and then left, as they didn't know whether or not we were moving forward with the tile removal, as of course I still haven't heard back from Bill. I just called again, and he said he was with a customer, and will call me back in a few minutes. I'm not holding my breath. I will update this with the ultimate conclusion of the project. Overall at this point, I have found The Flooring Gallery to be an utter disappointment in terms of service, and there are way too many competitors for this to be acceptable. UPDATE 8/23 - The floors were installed, took a day longer than anticipated, and they still haven't come back to fix a gap under the casing, as they promised. I received a bill in the mail today, no follow up from anyone at The Flooring Gallery since installation. Very disappointed, and would certainly recommend choosing another vendor for your flooring project."
