"My Mom and Dad has went here for years ... But sadly the office staff is rude and nasty now days... It's about money and not the person..."

"**PLEASE READ ALL** Husband, father of 5, combat wounded veteran and Macon County tax payer! If you want to be disrespected and treated like a second class citizen from the office staff Come Here! If you want good service and respect go ANYWHERE ELSE! Or maybe it might just be us being singled out?! Would love to write our whole experience but will keep it to our last 6 months to a yr experience! Last appt my wife had with them she was pregnant and the assistant asked if "she was finally done having kids?" After my wife saying she thinks having our kids messed her teeth up over the years! Thats RUDE! She had an appt today so we called as we were running about 10-15 minutes behind. The receptionist said they would have to reschedule because it would be past 10 minutes late. "Keep in mind she started antibiotics for an infected tooth and scheduled this 10 days ago for an extraction that is needed badly. The receptionists answer to her when she SCHEDULED 10 DAYS AGO WAS. " if you followed your dental plan and got that tooth filled we wouldn't have to pull it". THATS RUDE TOO! YOUR JOB IS TO SCHEDULE DENTAL WORK NOT TO PUT YOUR RUDE COMMENTS IN, THAT DOESNT MEAN ANYTHING! YOURE JUST BEING RUDE. After asking to speak to the owner/dentist he didn't want to hear anything being said and continued to tell us to find a different dental office. I would NOT recommend anyone here as our past 2 to 3 yrs experience has been nothing but RUDE from the office staff! Wish the dentist would've talked to me on a normal level because my wife said nothing but good things about Him. That's ashamed such a good Dentist has such a horrible JUDGEMENTAL RUDE OFFICE STAFF and he would believe whatever they say! My sincere apology goes out to Dr. MELZER for my behavior but I will not apologize for the RUDE office staff that doesn't tell him what's said behind his back and now my wife has to suffer in pain and go through getting a new dentist because we can't be 10-15 minutes late for an important appt critical to her Health! So with 5 kids, 1 car and and myself being a Medically Retired Veteran on a fixed income. Was going to pay them $315 to extract a tooth. But couldnt because they were so RUDE that we couldnt be 10-15 mins late. I ended up being able to rush there and be within the 10 minute time frame by 12 minutes but at that point we have been so RUDED OUT! We didnt even want to give them our money for a service where youre supposed to be made to feel comfortable! KEEP IN MIND we pay Cash for all our dental work! Seems like a customer you would want to keep and make happy! I talk to alot of people in the county and will continue to share my experience with them all!"

"The service was usually good for many years, but when the office staff repeatedly attempted to charge more money for services and repeatedly had confusion over their own policies within their discount plan, I kindly asked them to explain the charges. They admitted they were in the wrong, and I paid my bill in full. Shockingly, I received a termination letter a couple weeks later with no explanation of why Melzer and company were discriminating against me other than "you did not seem happy and are no longer a fit for being our patient." What?! So, if they try to charge more money than agreed upon and a patient asks questions, they simply piss on you and leave patient without dental care after being a customer for many years. If you are already a patient with these people, NEVER get their discount plan where you pay in full ahead of time because it is too complicated for their office staff to comprehend their own policies apparently and they will charge you more. Then, how dare you as the lowly patient simply ask for a clarification. This staff is highly insecure and not professional, so beware!"

"My wife and I were thoroughly impressed by the friendliness and competence of your staff and the up-to-date nature of your equipment: all first cabin! Looking forward to returning whenever dental care is needed. After 6 yrs of regular dental care here, we're still happy customers!"

"I highly recommend this office! The atmosphere and staff were warm, welcoming, and accommodating. The associates went out of their way to not only make me feel comfortable, but were eager to help each other out. They were easy to trust, and showed so much compassion. I saw Dr. Crumley for the first time and she was fabulous! She introduced herself and was so down to earth, even hummed to the music while she worked. I loved it! The positive energy from the office was definitely felt, and contagious (even though it was 7am!). They got me in and out with full respect of my time, and I was able to make it into my job without being late. Even though its a dentist office, I don't dread going back, and I actually look forward to my next experience at Appalachian Dental."
