"There were multiple Confederate flag displays and misinformation/propaganda for sale including a glass case of bumper stickers at checkout that said "America love it it leave it" and "Trump won you know it I know it". In a city that's 96.6% white and 0.511% Black or African American with 0% of families reported using a non-English language at home (according to the Holden Beach 2020 Census), "family owned and operated since 1974" has a decidedly less wholesome connotation when paired with this blatant racism. To be clear: all citizens have the right to vote for whomever they like. The shop also sells Trump campaign flags and such and their right to do so should be supported by all Americans. This isn't about politics; it's about character. There are better ways to shop local."

"My whole church family 3 vans full went to Holden Beach for a Church event. We were so excited to go to Fantasy Isle and Beach Mart because so many people have said “get ice cream at fantasy isle and shop at beach mart they have an upstairs” When we pulled up and saw how absolutely horrible it was of Beach Mart to treat the customers of Fantasy Isle we knew this was not the business to patronize. That is the most liberal minded business I have ever known! How can you not support another working business, you do not belong in a community as such! Beach Mart is definitely Ridin’ With Biden!! Absolutely Awful!!"

"I’ve been going to this place for over 30 years. It’s such an institution at Holden Beach that you can look past the weird rebel flag stuff and the whole “we speak English and pay taxes here” thing. I’m pretty sure the merchandise hasn’t changed over the past few decades, but no matter, that’s kind of the point. They have the best postcards in the state of North Carolina, hands down. There’s a class on Holden Beach history every Tuesday evening, don’t even think about missing it.."
