"Out of all my years of military surplus buying/trading/selling, this store is the MOST unique! It feels like an actual museum to which I was impressed! Most store might have a piece or there from an era or country, the store owner is very keen on having completed sets, etc. If you are looking for old Cold War era military gear/surplus, this is the place!"
"Great spot with friendly knowledgeable owner. He's always on the hunt for new gear and collectibles so best to routinely check back. Location has easy parking and access and is near a brewery so kill two birds with one stone!"
"I am not a big military guy. I am not a survivalist. In fact, I am not even a big outdoors kind of guy. What I am is kind of a crackpot. A magpie, a collector of oddities, an eccentric. The bunker drew me like a fat dog draws fleas on a hot day. It was irresistible, like the smell of baked bread coming out of a bakery as you walk down the street of your home town. As I peeked inside, I was met with ordered chaos, with a world of interesting and odd things. I suspect every person who sticks their heads in that shop sees something something completely different, sort of like a retail Rorschach test. There will be people like me who will find it quirky and fun and people who will find it serious business and grab stuff to bury in the woods. But you know what? It’s a fun store! There are costumes and helmets, shovels, and powdered meals, and medals, and hats, tons of stuff I don’t recognize and backpacks, and really, it’s endless. A true cornucopia of eccentricities and curiosities. I’m traveling and my bags are full, but ya know what? I got myself a new hat! I simply could not resist. And if left there much longer I’m sure I would have come away with a ton more stuff that I also could not have fit in my suitcase. I try and remember not to be a clown. Don’t get stuck in a rut. Take a chance once in awhile. Wander into a shop that you don’t think you’re going to like, that’s not your usual bailiwick. Take a roll of the dice. Drop into the Bunker and get ready for WW3 ,or The Zombie Apocalypse, or a costume party, or a BBQ, or a hike, or making a lamp, or something! You’ll figure it out"
"This is another store that is great to check out in the fort bragg area. He occasionally has some odd and hard to find items for sale such as mortars, used smoke grenades, and foreign items. Always a blast to come in and talk and get a small history lesson on random items."
"Fantastic shop, probably the best military surplus store I’ve ever been in. Had lots of World War Two and Cold War era stuff, which is very hard to find. Good prices too, and the guy running it is super awesome and great to have a conversation with!"
