"This Food Lion is great. It's always nice and clean the cashiers are always friendly. It's easy finding the things you need and they always have great prices."

"I'm around the same distance to three food lions. I choose the Union Street location. Pros: It's usually very clean and well stocked. The employees are usually very friendly and helpful. Convenient to downtown with ample parking. Cons: Employee smoking area is near the entrance so if you come in on that side you have to walk through a wall of cigarette smoke to get in. The new self checkout design makes it a little more inconvenient to get checked out."

"The union street food lion is by far the friendliest place to shop. The staff alone are worth the visit. I’d rather stop here a few times a week for small trips then deal with Walmart any day! And I don’t have any kind of fan obsession with any other food lion, it’s just this one that is truly one of a kind."

"I have been shopping here for years but today I was purposely overlooked while standing in line waiting to check out. The manager ( I assume she was because her uniform looked different from the other workers) purposely told the White woman behind me that 4 is open while I was obviously next in line. 2 minutes later another White woman stood behind me and she said ma’am I can take you meanwhile me( the Black woman) who was still waiting and next line had to continue waiting. I rather drive further to shop elsewhere than deal with this discrimination. I just called and spoke to the manager about it, so hopefully they will take this seriously."

"This location is my favorite for three reasons: It's close to my house. 9/10 times they have what I need. They remember my daughter's names. Honestly, the main reason I go is for the last reason. All of the employees (that I've encountered) have been awesome. They answer questions, and are personable, and they always make me feel welcome. As a Mother, a trip to the grocery store could last every day of the week, and when it does, I'll continue to shop at this Food Lion. Love, Stella's Mom"
