"With all of the choices at Optimist Hall it tough to decide. I chose Bao and Bun and it was a great choice. The ramen and Bao bun were tremendously good. When in town and back at Optimist Hall I will go back!"

"First time visiting this place and I love buns, they are so soft and delicious. I got the pork belly and jackfruit bun. The pork belly was a little too fatty for me but the jackfruit was DELICIOUS."

"Bao & Broth is one of the original kiosks in Optimist Hall and has a solid following. The menu is essentially divided up into noodles and baos. Food comes out relatively quick even when OH is jammed with people and customer service is very good. We’ve tried most of the menu over many visits. The Spicy Miso and Tonkotsu options are good - portions are on the smaller side which is good for someone on the go. They also have a kids option which is popular in this house. The baos, to me, are better than the noodles. The OG and KFC fried are must orders. They also have specials so check the board. The Spam Musubi Bao recently was good with a fried egg square to match the spam. Given the influx of new ramen joints in CLT since the pandemic, the competition is ramped up. If you’re hankering for ramen in OH, grab it."

"Stopped here at daughter’s request and we ordered the fried chicken bao bun, bulgogi bao bun, and miso ramen. Chicken was a little too crunchy and dry for our liking and was difficult to bite through the meat. The bulgogi was cooked better but needed a little more sauce. The bao bun was extremely fresh, fluffy and yummy. My daughter said she enjoyed her miso ramen bowl with chicken and other toppings. Check it out for yourself."

"We were in the mood for something different. We tried the Pork Belly Bun, Tofu and Falafel. The Tofu had the strong spicy flavor my husband prefers. The pork was real good, too! The falafel wasn’t bad. I was impressed with the employees working so hard getting orders out- they look very organized and together. We’ll be back!"
