Boone's Fly Shop

"Good folks, but literally no inventory. Basically no waders / boots / fly boxes on multiple visits in the past months. fly selection is very lackluster and they are out of probably 80% of their stock. It’s been this way for a pretty good while, and I hear it’s unlikely to change. They’ll say they are getting more product in soon or that the season is shifting, but nothing changes and the store has been pretty much empty all October/November in peak fishing season. No flies or gear has come in probably 3 months or so. Shop was great a year or two ago but it’s really gone downhill and whoever is in charge of the ordering has failed to provide a good fly shop. Hoping it turns around, they’re always helpful in the store!"

"Floor staff are great, but absolutely no inventory in store. I’ve come in multiple times trying to spend money on fishing gear and there has not been any restocks for months now. Not sure what the situation is but they aren’t buying gear and are unable to fulfill the vast majority of fly fishing needs in store."

He is so knowledgeable about all aspects of trout fishing and local lore and he’s patient with novice trout fishermen. We’re already planning a return trip in the Fall. Guides can’t guarantee a catch or perfect weather, but they can give us the best chances to have an enjoyable time. "Had an awesome experience today with fly fishing guide, Nate Fordyce. He was personable, extremely knowledgeable, and patient while teaching us how to fly fish. Nate taught us a great deal about trout fishing and even about the trout's habitat. This was our first time ever fly fishing. We hit a couple of different spots in our 4 hour time. Our guide knew all the great spots and we left our trip happy. If you are in the Boone area , a guided trip is a must. They provide everything you need to fish with on the guided outing. The fly shop is awesome as well and the staff there are friendly and know their stuff."
