High Park Bar & Grill

"Interesting sports bar. If you're here for sports and vintage rock and roll on the sound system you're in the right place. The menu has lots to choose from. Good selection of beers. I chose the "famous meatloaf" for my lunch, with brown gravy, mashed potatoes, and onion straws. We, bartender and me, had some communication challenges placing my orders for food or drink but hey, we all struggle. Food arrived. The gravy was congealed on potatoes and meatloaf so it has been sitting awhile. If you like hot food to be hot you may want to add this requirement to your order. Not sure who dubbed the meatloaf famous but ok. It was on the dry side so could have used more, non solidified gravy to be comfortably swallowable. And salt. It definitely needs salt. If you're a Raleigh local I can see this being your go to place. Lots of banter and interaction with the bartenders. If you're an out of towner, particularly a woman on her own with a robo voice, you don't stand a chance."

"Checked High Park Bar & Grill on a Saturday evening during college football. The bar side and outdoor patio were packed. We were immediately seated in the dining room. Greeted by an awesome waitress. We asked what her favorite things on the menu were. She gave us a great run down, with an extensive knowledge of their large menu choices. The beef tips over mashed potatoes were excellent! Our dinner salads were incredibly fresh and equally delicious. Wife order the four-choice veggie plate. Our whole dinner was delicious. Not your ordinary bar food. The place is huge, and the bar top is huge. TVs scattered throughout the bar and dining areas. A couple of dart boards and video games as well. Would love to sample their wings. A definite return to restaurant."

"Decent Food, But Lunch Rush Woes Visited High Park with coworkers for lunch. The wait time during lunch hours was quite high, and unfortunately, our order for corn bread never arrived. Despite that, the food was decent. Planning to revisit in the evening, seems like it might be a better time to enjoy this place!"
