"We stopped by this restaurant before a show at PNC Arena. That turned out to be a bad idea. Spring Rolls appears to be one of those restaurants where none of the staff have a specific role (I assume that does not apply to the kitchen staff), there's just a bunch of employees wandering around hopefully addressing diner needs. I say hopefully because after getting seated it took nearly ten minutes before someone took our order, and I had to flag her down myself. Once we had our order in, it took absolute ages to get the food out. Unfortunately, the food was also mediocre. They did say the kitchen was backed up so maybe this wasn't their best work, but the pad Thai was nearly flavorless and the chicken especially was limp and uninspiring. My wife got the sweet and sour chicken, and she said she liked that the chicken was crispy even though it had plenty of sauce on it. I tasted some and the texture was great but the taste was lacking. I would expect sweet and sour chicken to be tangy to the tongue with a sweet aftertaste, but this was just bland. Although the service was spotty, every waiter working there was extremely nice and helpful and it was obvious they were making the best of a bad situation. I have the feeling I came at a bad night, so my experience might not be representative of what Spring Rolls normally provides."
"Delighted to discover the best Asian cuisine in my 5 years in NC! The shrimp and broccoli dish exceeded expectations with a generous portion of succulent shrimp and crisp broccoli. The perfectly balanced flavors left me satisfied without feeling overly heavy. The ample serving of rice was a delightful complement. Shared my fantastic find with coworkers, and they're excited to try it for dinner tonight. Personally, I'm eagerly anticipating both lunch and dinner at this spot in the near future. The shrimp and broccoli dish left such a positive impression that I can't wait to indulge in those delicious flavors again!"
"Really enjoyed the sushi rolls and the margaritas are gorgeous!! Very relaxed atmosphere and the waiter couldn’t of done more for me."
"The food was great, had sweet and sour chicken, it was amazing the only complaint was that the fried rice was cold but they fixed that and made it over fresh, service was also excellent, I'd definitely try again."
"The food never disappoints! I started going there many years ago every chance I could. Today we went for my daughter's birthday. This is one of her places on her list of favorites. My eggplant in garlic sauce is so good. My husband said his sweet and sour chicken is the best he's ever had! My mom could not stop raving about how good her general toes, was! They serve the best Chinese food I had yet in Raleigh! And the lunch specials are a good variety with the perfect combos and reasonably priced. BUT.....Sorry to say our server was mediocre at best. She didn't wipe the entire table when we were seated and the table had something on it. She only wiped that spot.... we used our own wipes to clean the table, sorry to say it was not clean. Our server continually reached over our plates while we were eating, instead of walking around to the person she was serving. The noodles for our soup were stale. I took them to the bar because, my server was not around. When she appeared I told her our noodles were stale, she snapped back that's all I have.... instead of saying, I'm sorry, let me see what I can do... Fortunately for us, the person behind the bar had enough sense to make some fresh noodles, instead of blowing off, we were served stale food. She just came across as if we were bother to her. Mind you, the restaurant was not busy. We really love Spring Roll. We were disappointed they closed their North Hill location, but we followed them to the Wade Ave. area. However, if they continue to allow their server to wait on people so sloppy, they'll lose their following."
