"I absolutely LOVE this store! I live over 2 hours away in New Bern, but whenever I go to Wake Forest, I always make a point to stop here. The staff is so kind and go out of their way to be helpful. Just yesterday, I had filled my cart almost to the brim with items, and the manager, “Delgado” came over and asked me if I would like a second cart so that none of my items would break, and he promised to bring me a second cart (which he did) so I could continue my shopping. They have beautiful items here, and unlike places like Goodwill, they don’t hike up the prices of donated items, just because they can. Another thing I truly appreciate is their willingness to wrap delicate/fragile items. Goodwill won’t even give you a bag, much less wrap anything. They don’t always have paper or bubble wrap, but they will carefully wrap fragile items in some donated clothing to protect the item from damage. This is so important to me since I live so far away. Another thing they do which I really love, is they have sales and also have a loyalty program that gives you money off of your next purchase. I just can’t say enough about how truly wonderful and kind the staff is. EVERY TIME I go in there, they smile and greet me and after I shop, someone always offers to help take my stuff out to my car, as I always have 2 carts of items. I can not say enough about how wonderful this place is; it is a joy to shop there! Thank you, Delgado and staff, for all that you do to make it a wonderful shopping experience!"
"Out of all the DRM stores this one is the best. Super clean and organized (bathrooms too). The staff is always friendly and offering to help carry bags to the car. Prices are very fair, unlike a lot of other thrift stores these days"
"I've been coming here frequently for several years and have always loved interacting with employees--they are very nice! The store is always kept very nice and I love the carts. But recently prices have really gotten out of hand on clothing items, especially shoes. $29 for a pair of well used shoes is excessive and I feel like who ever is managing pricing has gotten greedy. You can still find reasonable pricing in the house wares. I find myself coming here less and less as I can no longer find the deals I used to and I find the pricing unfair. Edit: went back today to see if feedback was listened to but it was ignored. $50 on vases and pairs of boots. $140 on a walker that could be used to help the elderly. It’s shameful. The math ain’t matching when goodwill raises prices 30 cents, Durham raises it 20 dollars. I feel like they are googling every item in order to try to out smart one or two resellers but they’re only hurting themselves and those who need it most. I will no longer be shopping here nor donating any longer. I encourage others to donate to ministries like Dorcas where prices are not greed based and your money still goes to good work."
"I’ve been coming to this store for years and used to really enjoy shopping here but the prices lately have been insane. $15 for sweaters (even ones that are really worn, pilled, and stained), $2+ on items from the dollar store, other items for $1 less than they retailed for and some for more than they retailed for. I often find myself putting items back because of the incredibly unreasonable pricing lately. It’s definitely more antique store pricing than thrift. That being said, the employees are always very nice and friendly. The store is also very clean and well organized."
