"Everything is good, especially the garlic in the cabbage, but every time I order here, my cabbage is raw and I do not like that. El dente but not raw. 12/22/23 I tried the greens because each time I ordered the cabbage they were raw, but these collards are so good. I'll order them from here on out."
"My food was not great. It wasn't horrible, and I would not go back again. I feel like I wasted my time a money at Jamaica Jamaica. I ordered oxtail, rice n peas, and cabbage. The oxtails we are all small or thinly cut. They tasted okay, but there were too many butter beans and way too many pimento. The cabbage was the worst thing on the plate. The put Italian seasoning in the cabbage. Threw the dish off. The plantain was fine, but I didn't come for that. If you really enjoy Caribbean food, you would know it's hard to find good options in the triangle. I should have gone to Lee's kitchen. I always enjoy my food when I eat there. It's not worth $22 dollars. This review is for the oxtails. I didn't eat anything else there."
"This was the most surreal and awful restaurant experience I've ever had. I ordered the West Indian curried chicken with yellow rice and plantains. There was nothing West Indian about it. It was like if you poured chicken noodle soup over some chicken thighs. Flavorless. No scotch bonnet, no allspice, no curry powder. It just straight up isn't Jamaican or West Indian food here. Even if it's not authentic, it's just not good either. The meat was clearly thrown into the braising liquid with no seasoning and no sear on the skin. The yellow rice was mush and clumpy. The plantains were dry. Here's where it gets crazy: The food was so bad, the table next to me asked for a refund. The owner says no, that they ate their food. This may or may not be true. Either the way the food was horrible and they probably should get a refund, honestly. The exchange gets so heated the cops are called. At one point the owner says the guy asking for a refund has a gun. He does not. We're all scared at this point. The police arrive and talk to them both and eventually the guy leaves. All the while, there is an old man in the back just playing his guitar alongside cheesy classic hits at a volume that no one else can hear themselves talk. Just an absolutely unhinged experience."
"LOVE LOVE LOVE THEIR FOOD! I've been here about 30 times and have eaten the jerk chkn, rice, brown & curry chkn stew, shrimp stew, beef patties, cabbage, collards, plantains, black beans...all are fantastic and u have to pour the meat juice or stew over the rice to have the flavors offset each other..it would be too much to have flavorful meat over flavorful rice...I LOVE IT AND THEY DO HAVE A REAL JAMAICAN COOKING THE FOOD SO I KNOW ITS AUTHENTIC!"
