Ordered the fried shrimp, fish, and chicken with a side of coleslaw and fried okra via Doordash. I started eating the shrimp and the slaw first, and they were good - seasoned nicely and I liked the sweet touch on the slaw. However, I felt something weird as soon as I started eating the chicken. I could smell ammonia, but the chicken was still edible. However, the fish was definitely cooked with rotten fish, and I couldn’t get the strong ammonia smell off of my mouth for quite a long time. I don’t know how they could not have noticed that, but If you want to get fried seafood with fresh ingredients, I would recommend someplace else. Price here may be low, but it is definitely not worth risking your health. Reply to the owner's response. First of all, as I have clearly mentioned in my review, I didn't claim that you removed the review. I am clearly aware of how the review system works, and the only way it could be invisible to the public without my intervention would be being reported by someone (like how you would just request an investigation for legal issues to google for this review). There were no offensive words or expressions that would degrade the integrity of my review, so it seems highly unlikely that it would automatically be blocked by Google (via their algorithm). I have also done some research on reviews that have been posted on this business and found out that a considerable amount of people who left reviews of this place have very few (less than 3) reviews. All the reviews had at least 2 likes on them which was also very unusual. After writing hundreds of reviews of different restaurants, I have never come across a single place where all the reviews had likes on them. Have you checked the reviews of all the other people who left perfect reviews, and does their location history/timeline say that they visited your restaurant? You seem greatly concerned with the integrity of all the reviews, but as long as they give 5 stars, you don't seem to be concerned about that. Finally, you said you would never serve food that is against health code violations. While you may claim to do so, it doesn't change the fact that I got served a rotten fish on Feb 2nd, 2021. If you want to take this to the court, there are phone records that I had with Doordash where I complained about the quality of the fish that I got on that day for lunch. In addition, I have placed hundreds of different orders via third-party delivery apps, and this was the "only" occasion where I complained about food that violated against the health codes (which clearly substantiates my claim on this issue). In hundreds of google maps reviews that I wrote, this was also the only occasion where I expressed my concern for health due to violations of the health codes. You can keep complaining about falsified reviews and information, but it doesn't change what happened in the past. I am greatly disappointed by the stance you're taking, and I will stand by what I said in the review above regardless of your threat."

"The best place in Durham to get fried chicken and fish! We ordered 4 legs and 8 fish fillets, waffle fries, and lemonade, and everything was absolutely delicious! Restaurant staff is super friendly as well. Highly recommend this place! 10/10"
