"Golly. There is an urban middle-class infatuation with finding, “hole in the wall” eateries that combine incredibly affordable prices with delicious, unpretentious-yet-photogenic food. Sho Nuff might be the answer to the search in Durham. Finding this place makes you feel like the Anthony Bourdain of your local neighborhood. You’ve found, “the gem”. We came in on a weekday afternoon for a late-ish lunch. The team was incredibly friendly and the food incredibly fresh. Platters are priced like we’re back in the early 2010’s and the portions are sized like we’re the denizens of Wall-E (see photos attached). I ordered a Whiting and Shrimp combo for under $15 and my friends and I split a Garlic Shrimp box. The Platter featured two pieces of fish and 6 jumbo shrimp on a generous California King bed of fries. We were stuffed. Our group tried all the fish. We agreed if we were to come back we’d go with the Catfish. It was delicious. I don’t know how to talk about fish, but it had just enough of a faint taste of whatever water it came out to remind us this was fish and all the crunch and flavor of any well-fried southern seafood. And let me not forget about their homemade lemonades. They’re jolly rancher flavored—a sort of homemade twist on the Calypso brand. Super sweet, probably needed ice, and so deadly delicious. After lunch, we left our car parked in front of the store and walked home. That’s how stuffed we were. That evening, I came back and ordered another Garlic Shrimp box, this time spicy, and took it with me to see some of my favorites other friends. It was a hit. To use two “$” to describe this place would be to misrepresent the value for food you get. Seafood should not be this cheap, and yet here it is. I cannot recommend this place enough!"
"I've been craving crab legs for a while, so I did a lot of research before just picking any spot. And this was the spot. The best spot. The crabs legs, shrimp, pork sausages, seasonings, lemonades, everything about this restaurant was hitting. I finished my food and WENT BACK to get another cluster and more sausages. The only things that were missing was a bib and some crab crackers; my teeth and fingers had to to do the trick. The variety and flavors of cakes and lemonades were 10/10. The man who owned the spot was so kind. It's a little pricey, but definitely worth it."
"Excellent customer service, food is cooked to order and is hot & delicious. This was my first time, and will certainty be returning for more. The business is very clean and space is somewhat limited due to long bench seating along the wall. Overall this was outstanding restaurant experience and I commend the owners on a great effort"
"We ordered the fried oysters and the fried shrimp and flounder plates. The food was amazing, it came out fresh and hot. The cole slaw that was provided was sweet and tangy. Portions were generous and price was very reasonable. Planning to go back to try the steamed crabs!"
