"I literally order the same thing every time since the grand opening date. My bowl is always refreshing and made with love. Everyone is sooo nice and the service is incredible."

"Today I came to Playa Bowls to buy my usual and today was the worst. I always buy from them all and they always provide me great service and fresh fruit. I asked for a Nutaya bowl with no blueberries, no coconut flakes, extra bananas and extra Nutella They always add Strawberries and this bowl doesn’t come with strawberries and I don’t complain about it because I don’t think it’s a big deal but I still proceed to ask them to remove the strawberries. They started making my bowl and I was watching and the lady ran out of pitaya and instead of her making more; she grabbed a bowl that already had toppings on them from the freezer and started scraping the toppings off the bowl. It looked like the oats were already mixed in the pitaya. She goes back to my bowl and was about to pour it into my bowl. I get up from my chair and I told her I don’t want that in my bowl. When I got closer, I looked at the bowl she pulled from the freezer and it looked like the granola was already mixed in there and it looked like it someone used or eaten it. After I told her that I didn’t want that mixed bowl in mine, she then decided to make more of the pitaya base. When she finished making my bowl, she threw away the mixed bowl she pulled from the freezer. If I didn’t stand there to watch her make my bowl she would’ve probably put the mixed bowl back in the freezer to give it to another customer. At this point, I would recommend you to watch them make your bowl because you never know if they are giving you a messed up order or a returned bowl from a customer."

"Playa Bowls offers superfruit bowls, smoothies and juices in a FUN, beachy, surf vibe cafe on Ninth Street in Durham. There are SO MANY CHOICES! I loved the 8th Ave and Pink Flamingo Bowls! Everything was fresh, healthy and delicious! Best tasting granola- I love that they put granola on the bottom and the top of your bowl! Go check them out for a healthy, delicious snack!"

"Went in on the second day it was open and it was packed! I love that they don’t add sugar to the bases and there are tons of toppings to choose from. I got half açaí, half pitaya because I couldn’t choose, and it was so good! The protein bites were good too. It’s also great that they’re open late for those of us with late night açaí bowl cravings."
