"Pretty disappointed. I called several times to place an order and was either sent directly to voicemail or they let it ring through. I would happily change my rating if someone were to answer the phone and take our order. Wish I had the opportunity to rate the food as well. I'm sure it's good. :("
"Had a great burger, fries, and pint here. The burger was cooked perfectly to the temp I requested, the toppings were fresh and crisp, and the bun was out of this world--maybe a brioche bun? The fries were also terrific. Portions are generous and the entire meal was a bargain. The staff are friendly and experienced. At their recommendation we started the meal with a special app, the beef empanada which was outstanding. No overfried dough shell here: a light crispy shell surrounding well-spiced beef with a fantastic fresh tomato and onion salsa on the side. I suspect their specials are always a good choice, though I was craving a burger. Great meal and am excited to have such a good low key restaurant in my neighborhood."
"I was in the restaurant business for 20 years, and we just moved to north Durham recently. There is a strange shortage of casual dining restaurants in the area. We like this place in part because it's close. I'm glad they held on through the pandemic. The menu has a nice variety. The food is good, not great. We've been a half dozen times, and they do an ok business in the dining room, decent take out volume, and lots of regulars at the bar. They seemed to struggle with staffing, but it's been better recently. I don't understand their closing at 8pm, though it may be for staffing reasons; to keep or attract staff. I would stay open until 9pm, and try to find someone to improve the food quality, and maybe put a few (live) plants for decor :)"
"Food was really good. Had the Log Jammers, and the dogwood burger. Burger was a good size, fresh toppings, yolky egg, and the ham was just salty enough to cut through. They cooked my burger perfectly! Wish they had the Porter on tap I wanted, but there is always next time! Staff was chill and laid back. They got a little busy, but COVID19 and understanding about staffing. Still took very good care of me. Not a shabby bar, more upscale and refined. Definitely not for the rough and rowdy bar crowds, which is fine by me...N. Durham needed a classy place."
"Nice place to get local pulled pork bbq. We also tried the special dish of the night and chicken quesadillas. The service was good, staff were friendly and attentive to our requests. They kept the place open a little longer so we could finish our meal. I would go back here for sure and recommend it."
