"From the moment we entered the restaurant I should have gone with my intuition, the hostess was not very welcoming. We preferred a table and were told it would be 20 minutes or more, we said we would rather have a table. Ignoring our preference she sat us at the bar putting one of our guest against a wall not very comfortable for them. Then the hostess screams in my ear because we moved over so we could be more comfortable. She tells us she needs the room for other guests which there were plenty of seats. Then anyone who came to the bar was seated at a table in minutes which should have been us . We proceed to order our food one of our party was served food and 20 minutes later we were asked if we wanted a to go box the rest of us haven’t even been served yet. Then the next guest of our party was served and 20 minutes later they served me. I declined my food and paid the bill for mediocre food and terrible service. Never going back. My party left and I was hungry from no food so I went around the corner to Cape Fear where the manager and the bartender treated me like a special guest. What a waste of time, money to even have bothered to go to such a place. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else to eat!"
"The food here is amazing especially the pizza. I've been coming here since I was in high school fast forward 20 years later and I am still getting my pizza to go, the owner and his family are the sweetest."
"We enjoyed Piccola Italia for our anniversary. They start you with a bread plate served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I prefer it personally without BV, but it was still delicious. We chose Chicken Picatta and a Chicken Penne dish. I subbed my penne on the Picatta for angel hair. Every single bite of our meal was delicious. We chose tiramisu and cannolli for dessert, also absolutely amazing. The appetizer menu looked great, but we opted to save room for dessert. The location is great in Cameron Village with ample parking and the food has an authentic taste to it, rather than chain. Doug was our server and did a great job creating a warm atmosphere for us. The establishment has been around since the early 80s. You can tell they have put time and love into their business."
"It was a warm Saturday evening, we wanted to try a new pizza spot and had never been here. Upon entry we noticed they had some memorabilia showing they have been around since the early 80s. They had plenty of seating inside and out. We were sat right away and were helped quickly. They have various pizza size options, but the personal is huge for 1 person. We started with a greek salad, which was good. Then for pizza ordered the vegetarian and pepperoni, we wanted 2 options to try, Both very good. While not the best pizza in Raleigh, I would def go back here."
"The food and service were both fantastic! The location was also great, as was the ambiance of the restaurant. Their menu has a lot of great gluten free and vegetarian options to choose from as well. If you go during lunch, like we did, you'll hand to order a dinner sized portion of the pasta as your gluten free option. They typically have gluten free penne pasta, but today it was fusilli (which is actually my preference). I got my dish with the creamy basil pesto, mushrooms and broccoli. It was delicious! So much food that I could only eat about 1/4 of it, so I'll be enjoying leftovers. At night the also offer gluten free pizza crust for an upcharge. So I'll think I'll have to come back during dinner one night to try it. My only complaint is their online menu doesn't denote any of this. It just lists that most dishes can be made to accommodate gluten intolerance. So I had to call to ask for more in-depth information regarding what that meant. Other than that, it was a fabulous experience!"
