American Hero Hillsborough

"I like this place. When I'm in Hillsborough and I'm craving a gyro, this is where I go. The downside to this place is that the staff isn't even remotely friendly; they actually come off as rude and condescending but they'll make you your food, you'll pay and you'll be on your way. No need for small talk. The food is very good and the prices are decent, considering it's 2024 and we live in inflation land."

"If you are looking for an authentic NY hero or Philly, this isn't the place. It's not terrible, but it's not good either. There really isn't much to the "service". They hand you a sub dripping in mayo and only give you 1 napkin. They will give you another if you ask, but to be honest, you really need about 5. The atmosphere is pretty dreary unless, of course they were going for a minimalist vibe, in which case they nailed it. I've tried the place twice just to be able to give a fair review. I may try once more because I noticed they have a middle eastern menu as well and that may be more authentic than their Italian menu."

"The Gyro platter did not have any slices of meat and had only little crescent shaped meat. Wife’s chicken over pasta was barely warm and inedible. Definitely an experience and not one that I’ll repeat. Good Riddance!"

"Italian sub was absolutely delicious, cheese steak just as delicious..I would prefer the wings be fried a little hotter to become more crispy...but the flavor was good...also would like the wings to come with more sauce on them...I would highly recommend American Hero."

"Had take out yesterday and the falafel platter and chicken Swarma platters were great. My son said they've had take out several times and the food is always good. We were given several containers of tzatziki and tahini so generous with that as well."
