"I love McNair Performance!! They have ALWAYS gone above and beyond my expectations. Their customer service (especially Jennifer) is top notch. I would recommend McNair to anyone looking for a reputable and affordable auto repair company. Once I found them (approximately 4 or 5 years ago) I have been with them ever since. I'm sure we have all encountered less than reputable auto repair companies, so it is refreshing to know that I can put my vehicle (along with my daughters) in their capable hands and know that they will do anything and everything to ensure that the vehicles are fixed properly, are safe to drive and at a reasonable cost. I will NEVER use another auto repair company for any of our vehicles."
"Just went in for a car inspection, was quite pleased. Staff was friendly and polite, vehicle was left out front for me to easily access and drive away. Got an appointment next-day and was in and out in 30 minutes. At my inspection last year, a different mechanic tried to tell me I had a cracked exhaust manifold. After getting a second opinion my vehicle was passed then, but I have been paranoid about being scammed similarly this year. No worries from McNair Performance, if you are looking for a fair, honest, and professional service, this is your shop."
"I took my vehicle to McNair for a state inspection. It failed due to a bad tire and an exhaust leak. I had these items fixed and took the vehicle back 2 months later. The mechanic showed me where the exhaust was rubbing on the oil pan, which I appreciate. However, they failed the vehicle again, this time due to a missing vacuum line which was not mentioned the first time. I think the mechanics are knowledgeable, but there seems to be too much variation on how cars are inspected. It is a waste of time and money to have to keep getting retested because the mechanics doing the test are not consistent. Aside from that, the general attitude is mostly ambivalence towards the customer. I don't think the receptionist enjoys having a job interacting with other people. I will have to keep an eye out for a better shop that is more consistent in their work. It may be that they only want to work on larger jobs or performance vehicles."
"Great, honest auto repair shop. McNair Performance came recommended from friends and employees. I recently had my 2002 truck serviced at the dealership which told me I needed $900 dollars in steering components to pass NC inspection. I took my truck to McNair and they completely resolved the steering issues with a simple adjustment to the steering gear. Before I arrived, Grover had listened to my issue over the phone and assured me that the steering components in question hardly ever needed replacing. He felt confident that only one of the components would need replacing in a worst case scenario. He quoted me $434 and when he was finished a few hours later the bill was less than $150 including an NC inspection. Grover and the people at McNair get it. They understand that long term business success lies in doing proper, quality work and not in excessive, unnecessary charges/work."
"I went to McNair for my annual NC Safety Check. My MINI failed the check because one of the parking lights was out. McNair told me that they could fix it on the spot for $100 and send me on my way. They said it cost so much because they had to take part of the car apart to get at the light. Since I have a regular shop that does all of my repairs (they just don't do the NC Safety Check) I declined and took it there. When I went to my regular shop Reliable Import Service (those guys are incredible by the way) I showed them the light that was out and they told me that it would be a few minutes. The owner came in with the bill and said it was all set. I took out my wallet and looked at the bill and it was $0. I looked up puzzled and he said it took about 30 seconds and laughed. I told him about McNair wanting to charge me $100 and he just shrugged. Go figure. Because of this I will never go back or recommend McNair Performance ripoffs to anyone... I would beware..."
