"I wasn't going to leave a review but the more I thought about it, the more it bothered me. I stopped by this location on my lunch break to shop for my mother's birthday. I had planned to buy several items and I wasn't concerned about prices. No one greeted me when I walked in so I perused a bit, trying to get a feel for what I wanted. An associate eventually passed by me and stopped her to ask a few questions. She was very dismissive of me( I have never shopped here before but I know that my mother likes this brand) and she threw out a side comment about seeing if anything was on sale. After talking to my sister on the phone, I decided to buy just a pair of shoes and then get a gift card because I wanted my mom to get exactly what she wanted. I was left waiting at the register while the associates talked until someone finally choose to ring me out. I asked the clerk about purchasing a gift card and she said "yes we sale gift cards" and then gave me my total for the shoes. She kept reiterating the price and I kept saying yes I know, I don't mind the price. It made me feel like she didn't think that I could afford it. After that I asked again about the gift card and she walked off while I was talking to her. Will definitely never shop here again."
"I used to shop here (this location) with my mom but hadn’t gone in a while. I went back about 3 months ago and the staff was incredibly rude when I asked if the rewards money was transferable. I had some and my aunt had sent me some because she wasn’t going to use it. It was just a question but the workers reaction was definitely over the top and revealed an obvious unstable person. I left because it was just too uncomfortable after that and went to the mall location. Yesterday I went in to that location because I had got an email that clearance was now 60% off and we had just went to the outlet mall location and my middle schooler was able to find stuff she wanted. Yes, my middle schooler likes to wear Talbots clothes and her closest is filled with tops from there. When I walked in one lady did say hi and ask if I needed help but I said “no we’re just going to browse the clearance”. When we didn’t find anything we went to go leave and another worker creepily followed us as we browsed the new clothes and acted like we were about to steal stuff. Keep in mind this worker never said anything to us. I don’t need to shop somewhere where I am treated poorly especially in front of my young children."
"Have given them multiple shots, as I’ve had incredible success with Talbots products, and their staff. I’m writing this on behalf of the two women in my family who have given up shopping their. After doing it for them and trying to bear their staff, I now travel the 30 minutes to southpoint. If you do not look like a certain type of southern, I’d recommend shopping there. The staff are hit or miss, but bearable. The manager has a fundamental lack of understanding of empathy and customer service. She treats her customers poorly, and her employees worse. Classic Karen archetype."
"I went in to Eastgate Talbots to return a pair of sweaters. A sales associate was chatting with a man, for more than 5 minutes, while another associate rang up a lady. The first associate then picked up some merchandise, walked it over to its rack, then came back to her register, looked at me, and said "next". I told her "I'll wait" for the associate who works. I have had similar service here in the past and usually drive an extra 10 miles to the Southpoint store to avoid this poor attitude. I'll remember this next time when I need to go to Talbots. If the sales associate(s) didn't need to work, she would not be employed as a clerk at Talbots, so stop with the superior attitude please."
"Love the excellent customer service. I get to try on where most places don't let you and they go not their way to find an item of you really want it."
