"You're not going there for the atmosphere... It's all about the DELI. Lee and crew are great. Exactly what you would expect from a NY style deli. Have been going for years and hope it continues on. Breakfast and lunch, but to go orders for the next days sandwich. Fantastic!!! Try the open-face Reuben. Ps. Once you get to know the people, sit back and enjoy a little piece of New York and it's personal feel in South Charlotte. Thanks guys, you're the best."
"The rueben had a perfect combination of sauerkraut, pastrami (or corned beef), Swiss cheese and thousand island dressing. It was accompanied by a well seasoned coleslaw and a crispy dill pickle. My friend had the large pastrami on rye with a side of fruit: When we asked for our food to go, they carefully wrapped it in deli paper and included a fresh pickle. Definitely a winner and a must-try Jewish delicatessen in Charlotte, NC!"
"I visited Katz Deli on a Sunday morning around 10:30 am, expecting the usual bustling crowd, but was pleasantly surprised to find it not too busy. The team behind the counter seemed ready to whip up some deli delights. I ordered a classic - a bagel with cream cheese, and decided to treat myself to a 1/2 Reuben. However, the wait time was a bit longer than I anticipated for a small to-go order, which was a bit of a letdown. When it comes to the 1/2 Reuben, I’m on the fence. While the quality of the meat was undeniable - well-cooked, seasoned, and served hot, the quantity didn’t quite match up to the price tag. It left me questioning the value. On the brighter side, the side pickle was a winner. It was crisp, refreshing, and everything you’d hope for in a good NY deli pickle - a small reminder of the deli’s ability to hit some high notes. In summary, Katz Deli nails it in terms of quality but could work on their value proposition and service speed."
"Hours are limited so pay attention. Ingredients are extremely fresh and delicious. It's not Kosher - I wish they would just not serve Pork and/or Shellfish period - Who the heck needs that junk. Anyways, disappointed that they don't serve Hard Salami. Nevertheless, Pastrami was tasty and juice and served on delicious fresh seedless rye bread all the way from Rockland Bakery. Pickles were garlicky and delicious. Service was quick and friendly - they made it their business to get to know me. Friendly crowd that seemed to be amused by my banter with the Owner, Lee - who is truly a "Mensch" - Will definitely be returning. Really enjoyed my visit! Full selection of Dr. Brown's Sodas - Greatly enjoyed my visit! Thank You Lee!"
"Food is amazing!!! It's the real deal. Enjoyed the open face Reuben, had both the in-house knish and the NY Style..loved them both. We arrived early at 11:45 on a Saturday and the order was quick and we found a place to sit, when we were leaving it was very crowded...there was a line out the door. The food is worth it- we also got a few sandwiches to go. There are no fountain drinks, but a good selection of cold canned drinks."
