"I took my PC up because it was unable to boot up properly, which ended up being an issue with the disk drive, and they ended up replacing it with an SSD. That fixed my hardware problem, but what I mainly wanted done was data recovery, which they were unable to do properly. They transported the folders, but not a single file, and did not tell me this upon picking up my PC. I had paid $250 for a service they couldn’t do properly. Having to pay regardless of if they can fix it is not a good business tactic. I essentially paid money for something I could have done myself if they just told me what was wrong with it. Then they wanted me to “send it to Level 2 repair,” which could cost me well over $500. I ended up taking my disk drive to an independent repair technician who told me exactly what was wrong with it and claimed it would cost $1400, so I figured it wasn’t even worth getting my data recovered at that point. I got fully refunded for the Plus membership from Geek Squad at least."
"Called the Concord location. Was on hold EIGHT MINUTES until I was transferred to someone who called themselves able to speak English. It definfinitely was NOT Concord. I give up. Until you Corporate Pinheads realize we want to speak to some AT the location we called, you will lose business."
"At the Concord Mills store I met Julia and Matt PC Technicians. Julia was very helpful and comforting when I needed a new password for my windows sign in. Mat also was very helpful. I gained so much confidence in both these PC Technicians that I believe I will have them build me a new CAD PC in a few weeks. Best Buy needs to keep these people. Face to face customer service excellence always solidifies brand loyalty. Bob"
"Pretty much as bad as the horror stories. I just thankfully wasnt charged like others. I called, asking if they could test a GPU. The guy on the phone said they would run a normal diagnostic and it would be $99. Fair enough, i couldnt get my monitor to post, so i agreed and we set an appointment. 45 minutes before the appointment, i get a call about a service to rebuild the computer for $200. I decline and tell them i just want the GPU tested. Again, we agree and i come at the scheduled time. They take my PC in the back, then come out 2 minutes later saying yhey wont do anything unless he rebuilds it. Then they say they cant test the GPU. So why was i told twice that you would? Needless to say, it seems like they are trying to push their yearly subscription while pulling you in with agreeing to take a look at the PC. Needless to say i decline and left and got it up and running without a hitch. For those building a PC and youre getting no post, and nothing you find is fixing your problem, here is what i did wrong. The tower came with a Reset SW. I had it plugged into the motherboard instead of its original spot and that was for some reason causing a no post. Remove your Reset SW and see if that fixes your issue."
"I only called to find out if they could repair my SmartWatch. The guy was very helpful and led me in the right direction. He also gave me an estimate cost to repair the watch. FYI you have to schedule an appointment even if you're going to drop an item off to The geek squad."
