"We had a very pleasant experience here. The food was good and the service was enjoyable. 1. The restaurant has a mix of high top and traditional tables. When you enter, the dining area is to the left and the line to order is to the right. Seat yourself once you order. 2. The manager took our order and he had a big personality. He made jokes and made us feel very welcomed. 3. We ordered, the Mediterranean, the grilled salmon, the smash burger and chicken and waffles tacos. Each taco was very different but very enjoyable for different reasons. Make sure to pay attention to all ingredients on the menu, we ended up with bacon on 2 of the tacos and we don't eat pork. I think we paid about $40 for the tacos, 2 drinks and red velvet cake. The red velvet cake was really rich. I probably would not order it again. 4. We visited on a Saturday night and it was really busy. Overall the restaurant was clean but most tables were out of napkins and. It took a while for the staff to clean up tables once customers were done. 5. All in all we enjoyed and would definitely recommend folks to give them a try."

"I absolutely love this place. Service is great, staff is great .. food was great.. presentation of the food was really good. I had not one complaint. I don't eat meat, and the meatless options were on point. This is my new go to place, I tell everyone about it, and they end up loving it as well. I have not been able to give a all 5 star review in a long time to any but this place. My new go to place. Manager made the visit even more worth it with his personality. Woodlawn location."

"Just a nice place to be at! The tacos are fantastic. You would’ve think that they taste too westernized but they’re just delicious! Our favorites have to be the tikki malasa and shrimp taco by far. We had the chicken & waffle taco and I’m in love Two per adult should be enough for most Overall think this place is awesome and the decor is fun and welcoming"

"Near taco spot that puts a spin on traditional Mexican tacos. From the chicken & waffle taco to the brisket nachos, this place lives on the edge. It gets busy in spurts so there is either a long line or no line lol. The Kobe is a fan favorite and does the job for beef lovers. The fish & chips is modest and underwhelming but cool in theory. The brisket nachos are big and filling. That brisket is very tender and easy to eat. Tired of the norm, try Velvet Taco. Eat at the restaurant for the best quality in experience food wise."

"Velvet Taco located at 1601 E Woodlawn Rd, Charlotte, NC 28209 in the Park Road Shopping Center is a fantastic place to go for tacos! Excellent flavored soft taco shells (cheese on the bottom) and their brisket is phenomenally great. Addictive actually :) Very cool vibe here with the decor and staff. Loved it - highest recommendation for great Tacos. Lots and lots of varieties too."
