"My daughter and I are always looking for new places to try out so when I saw Mert’s we had to go!!! This time we brought along my son and grandson, who by the way is a very picky eater. We were not disappointed!!!! The staff was on point from beginning to end of service. The atmosphere was homey and inviting. The food was phenomenal, and that’s an understatement!!!! We tried multiple menu items and they were all so very tasty!!! Will be posting on all my social media and will definitely be return customers!!!! And by the way my picky eater loved the fried green tomatoes❤️"

"Enjoyed dinner before the Hornets game and I was transported back to my grandmother’s kitchen. I loved the atmosphere because the restaurant is snuggled in a busy area but you forget as soon as you walk in. Parking is highly suggested in the Wake Forest parking deck. It’s a short walk from there. Otherwise, you can valet. You’re greeted by a welcoming host who will seat you and get your drink order immediately. I ordered the Shrimp Creole with Rice and Cornbread. Fell.In.LOVE. The portion size is perfect and there was room for dessert. So, of course I ordered dessert. I had a slice of red velvet cake and the presentation was everything! (pictured below) Needless to say, I will definitely be back to enjoy a home cooked meal."

"Mert’s is a definite stop when your in Charlotte. We were impressed with the outstanding service and amazing food. I would have had pictures of the best Mac N chez ever, outstanding collards, perfectly cooked catfish, shrimp Creole and creamy rice, cornbread, salmon cakes, etc, etc, but it looked so good we just ate and ate!!!! Seriously awesome food, what are you waiting for go there now!! You Won’t Be Disappointed!"

"Mert’s was the first place we ate coming into Charlotte, and it was so delicious that it was the last place we ate before leaving. If you like ribs, you need to 100% get the ribs. I also enjoyed the rich Mac and cheese and the sweet but tangy collard greens. Don’t forget to enjoy the cornbread that comes with every meal! Amazing, friendly service. "Delicious! Catfish and leg quarter, greens and potato salad. All off the hook, great seasoning and flavor. Greens especially, like my grandma used to make, for real. I'll probably ask to fry the catfish harder next trip, but it was still delicious. Z was out server and was great, with honest suggestions and really added to us enjoying our meal. Great place for a home cooked meal!"
