"I'm normally a fan of Cookout, but we were very disappointed with this one. After getting our order (for which we paid cash), I noticed that we were charged separately for a coke float on a combo meal. When I pointed that out, the cashier said they normally charge ANY drink separately on a combo order. He then added that a lot of the prices on the overhead menu inside the store were wrong. He didn't offer to get a manager or do anything to make things right. I suspect a scam where the employees are doing this for cash payments, then "refunding" the difference to themselves after customers leave. Even if this is a new policy, not reflecting this on the menu is at best unethical and possibly illegal. We will be contacting corporate about this ASAP. We will learn a lot about how the chain is doing from their response"
"We were overcharged (apparently intentionally) for our meal. When we pointed out the error, the server told us that the "prices on the displayed menu were wrong, and they just haven't gotten around to changing them." In what universe is it okay to display wrong prices? Also, for years we have gotten a Coke float as the drink that comes with the combo -- there had never been any extra charge for a float. Today the server told us that "of course there's an extra charge, always has been, and an extra charge for soft drinks with a combo as well. " Seriously? That's not what the sign says (three one describing how to order a combo tray) nor have we ever in maybe 15 years' patronage been charged for a soft drink when ordering a combo tray. Sounds to us like they have been overcharging people for a very long time. I would love to stand corrected on this, if there is a reasonable explanation. Food was okay except the fries were cold."
"Went through the drive through, ordered a tray with nuggets and cheese bites. Only had 2 nuggets and 3 cheese bites in the container and the big burger I ordered was the same size as the normal burger. Not impressed, food tasted good, just didn't get what I paid for."
"We had a bad experience tonight that was handled perfectly by the manager. We ordered 2 cups of water with our meal and were charged $2.39 for each. Our receipt showed we got bottled water. We questioned the cashier who stood firm. I discussed this with the manager who said we should have not been charged at all for 2 cups of water and that she would teach the cashier the proper procedure. She refunded the money and apologized. Well done!"
"The line on weekends is ALWAYSSS very long as it was when I went but it moved pretty quickly. We eat here often and the last 4xs I have asked for "seasoned" fries and got fries that didn't even have salt.. They even read my order back & confirmed the "seasoned" part!! Other than that it was great and the ladies @ the window were great!!"
