"We called Mike for estimate for Sunroom and Patio, discussion on day one started him requesting me asking for sending email that I understand that it will cost $125. I am fine with paying because this is 50-60k worth of project but him asking for confirmation was bit strange. Also, no one in Charlotte area ask for money for estimates. Mike and his designer came to my house and listened to all our requirements. Paid him $125 same day. Fast forward 4 weeks and still no estimate so I called. He said he will get back tomorrow and he didn’t. I called again and he sent me email. Surprisingly it did not have estimate so I called mike and asked him where is the quote. This is asking for $8000 for design fee and asking to sign contract. He responded as that was consulation fee and I can’t give you estimate without design. He didn’t clarify when we called him for estimate otherwise I would not have paid him $125 to come out and give estimate to me when everyone(everyone) give estimate for free and this company can’t give estimate after charging $125. Stay away from them else he will ask for design he of $8000 for to give quote. At that point you kind a hired him."
