Reviews of White House Black Market
"I love this store. I shop whbm all the time and every time I go to South park I have a great experience. The staff is helpful without being overbearing. I was happy to work with Myesha, she was great at helping me find real business clothes. I will definitely go back here. I cant believe the complaints on here, makes me think they are the problem."
"Will never shop at this location again! Went in a few days after Christmas to exchange a gift I'd gotten because it didn't fit right. I was not given a gift receipt, but all the tags were on it and it was of course brand new and unworn. The lady at the counter was so rude and unprofessional! She said that without a receipt she couldn't do anything for me, then waved me off like she was dismissing me! I told her I was fine with whatever price it rings up for because I understand I don't have a gift receipt--I just wanted to get something different and was most likely going to owe the store some money. I was perfectly fine with that. But she refused to do anything. So I looked up the return policy on my phone and showed her how it says nothing about HAVING to have a receipt and then she asked me, with so much attitude, "Well how do I know how much you paid for it without a receipt?!" And I explained how, usually, you ring it in as a return and it comes up for whatever its current selling price is. I've worked in retail; I know how it works. So I asked her if she could just look it up in the profile of the person who bought it for me and she finally agreed to do that. She said she found the profile and the transaction, but then she said it was purchased 73 days ago and since that's over their 60 day policy, there was nothing she could do. I've been shopping with WHBM for probably 15 years now and I have definitely made no-receipt returns before and have never had a problem. I told her I just wanted to get something else and that I'd likely owe money, and the dress I was returning was hanging right there on the rack next to the counter! She refused and was totally unapologetic or sympathetic. It was like she couldn't be bothered and didn't care at all. And when I asked about a manager, she said it was her. It all just sat wrong with me, so I called their corporate customer service as soon as I left the store. When that rep looked up the transaction under the profile of the person who bought it for me, she said that profile wasn't showing any transactions for several months! That dress purchase was not under that profile at all. The lady at the store clearly lied to me!! And simply to avoid an exchange where they likely would have made money. Just ridiculous! The rep was also confused when I told her the lady at the store said a message popped up that it had been purchased 73 days ago--the rep said that wasn't something she's heard of before. Fortunately, the corporate rep took care of me and said they'd give me a full merchandise credit, but I had to mail it back to them (they sent me a free return label). I was still at the mall when I called them, but she didn't want me to have to go back into the store to send it back. How sad is that? Anyway, I will still be shopping with WHBM but never again at the Southpark location thanks to that incredibly rude, lying, and dismissive "manager." What terrible customer service and I am so disappointed."
"Can you say rude and unprofessional with no customer service skills. I’ve been a long time customer since the early 2000s and White House Black Market is in a league of their own. When I first moved to Charlotte I spent thousands and thousands a year at Northlake mall because of the customer service!!! OMG everyone spoke everyone was courteous everyone overextended themselves because you’re in a different league when you’re in White House Black Market, this may as well be outlet. I just picked up an online order that was processing because upon opening they hadn’t m checked the tablet for online orders and when I got there with the information the blonde haired lady with the red shirt and I hate I didn’t get her name said “well if you didn’t receive an email it’s not ready yet”! WHAT! Then they just wanted to ring me up, I’ve already paid online for online pick up, NO.. it’s a two seconds to complete the online pick up on their end but they act as if it was a task. I literally hate coming to the store as much as I love their clothing I would prefer to order online and not give them the credit!"
"This obviously is a women's clothing store, so why would I review ? Well I have observed many associates in a retail store such as this and quite often, the customer is not the focus. Of course, there is the opposite side of that where they hound you to buy so they can make a bigger commission. This group has a great balance. Lourdes the assistant manager is so on top of it. She is pleasant, knows her product, directs they staff and builds relationships with her customers. They all are good, but most certainly, she is a standout."
"Rude arrogant lazy associates that judge people by their appearance or how well dressed they are. It’s ridiculous! I rather spend my money buying online than give money to this store. It’s disappointing that WHBM usually employees these type of people. My mom purchase her clothes at much higher end clothing stores and the associates are way more friendly regardless of you being all dolled up or not! I will just keep spending my thousands from home in my pijamas!"
