"The service was top shelf. They didn’t have the tires that I had ordered. However, the sales rep found a compatible tire that they did have, and they sold it for the price that I had been quoted online. I will go to this Pep Boys from now on, on N. Cherry Rd. in Rock Hill, South Carolina."
"I literally have never trusted mechanics. I'm starting by saying women do not take your car to pep boys in Rock Hill SC without a man going with you. You will get ripped off. They told me I needed a alternator, I got the alternator $772 picked up my car its doing the same thing. They then told me the "lead mechainc" need to check it out he has all the bells and whistles that he paid for himself. He then told me it's was the "rear SAM MODULE" they can't do it becaue it needed to be programmed. I took it to another shop that can do it all and turns out its the "FRONT SAM MODULE". So they fixed something that wasnt broke and misdiagnosed me twice. And wont give me a refund or partial. . Management won't call back the regional manager won't call me. I was warned by a friend who used them many years ago but i was hardheaded. I'm alert now. And my mistrust in mechanics is stronger than ever. Where it's at now has reassured me it's what they said and will take care of me. So women don't go alone. Have them explained everything in great detailed if you do. I noticed the one guy would not give eye contact when he gave me an excuse that my alternator need to be programmed. Of course i didnt know any better but got home and googled does an alternator need programmed and of course it does not. So he lied and couldn't even look me in my eyes. DO NOT TRUST PEP BOYS IN ROCK HILL SC. I will put this up on every platform I can find. *Edited*Mark is the manager, we talked afterwards by phone but I've called 2 times since and left messages and he has yet to return my call. So I misquoted above saying he won't call. He talked to me that one time I called and was rude about what they said was wrong with my car. They said a junk yard alternator was on the car that's what "messed up your rear sam module, Why did you put a junk yard one on there." I purchased the car used so I didn't put it on. I've had it 4 years."
"While traveling we ran into an issue with our vehicle. From the moment that we walked in up until we left we experienced excellent customer service! The service tech and manger were knowledgeable and friendly. Service was fast and the price was definitely fair- they got us in and out quickly. If you are in that area be sure to see them for all of your service needs! Thanks again Mark and all Staff!"
"I have used this Pep Boys whenever I need car service and am visiting my mom. It’s amazing how often that’s been the case…tires one year, brakes this year, a battery one time, occasionally something more serious…you get the drill. I am always impressed at the friendly and effective service and fair prices they charge. No matter where I live, this will always be MY Pep Boys, even if I only need them once every few years."
"My radiator went out on my car Friday, so I got it towed here. It was actually supposed to go to the place next door, which has better reviews, but the driver took it here. The staff helpfully agreed to run diagnostics on my car anyways. On Saturday, they called and told me my radiator + 2 hoses needed to be replaced. The grand total? $1,462. I don't have that kind of money, so I called back and told them I'd have to figure it out on Monday. The manager told me they'd "see what they could do" and dropped the price to $1,300. Still, I said I needed to figure it out on Monday. He proceeded to drop it to $1,100. At this point, I'm seeing red flags. Called around on Monday and found a local place that charged me $375 TOTAL for the whole repair. Towed it there and my car was finished by Wednesday. Very disappointed in the price gouging going on here. I was lucky enough to have people around me looking out for my best interest. Be wary of any estimate that Pep Boys gives you and do your homework. I've got the estimate & receipt to prove this."
