"I have made 2 purchases since January and each time my contractor was given a very difficult time with being allowed to pick up my items, even though I gave his name and information at the time of purchase! I purchased a storm door yesterday and explained clearly that my contractor would pick up the door. I was told that he should just come to the pro-desk and he would have no problems. When he arrived, he was detained at least an hour even though I was called and I verified that yes, he was to pick up my door! THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!! I am 70 years old and my contractor's time is valuable as well as mine. I don't have the trouble makers name, but it was the same woman both times!!! Both times management had to get involved even though my contractor had a copy of the sales receipt and I gave his name and verbal permission by phone and at the time of purchase. WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO LOWES??? They certainly are not customer service oriented any longer!!!"
"Generally speaking they have a good stock of hardware, if you can find it. More often than not I have to walk around and find a an employee to get help. I find that they're usually huddled ,talking to each other head down, not really looking to help her customers but more interested in hiding out. Once you get their attention they generally will at least point you in the right direction. It's basically self service."
"Don't order anything online and expect it to show up on time or maybe even at all. They will let you know they don't have it when they show up with the order on the day rather then let you know ahead of time. Then it's usually a nice couple weeks wait for whatever they didn't send, which you probably could've got on your own 5 times over in the time you have to wait. Also if they would just say they didn't have it could save a lot of time and effort. But they definitely won't do that."
"Sorry, went back to see if things changed. Nothing. No help. Nobody at the project desk. One cashier at lumber checkout and one person helping at self check out. Home Depot was hopping with tons of help. Real shame."
"We bought a replacement gas cooktop and hood. Our salesman, who is also the department supervisor, explained that we could hire their contractor ‘Reliable Services’ to measure to ensure we are purchasing the correct size and the cost for this would be discounted from installation. Reliable came out not once, but twice, to measure. The company said it wasn’t done correctly the first time. (This caused a delay in ordering) When we received the items they came back to install the cooktop and it didn’t fit!!!! We had to have someone out to trim the countertop (1 week delay) then Reliable came back (another 1 week delay). Now the cooktop fits but no one took into account the gas connection beneath the countertop and our top drawer no longer fits!!!! Reliable says this whole situation is a Lowe’s issue and the supervisor at Lowe’s won’t return our calls. I must say that in the end, except for the cabinet drawer issue, we’re happy with the product but not the customer service or lack thereof from Lowe’s. Because their prices weren’t any better than their competitors and their lack of customer service, we’ll look elsewhere for our next appliance. ***update. I called the 800 number provided in the ‘owner response’ and was told they couldn’t help and transferred back to the local store. Another example of Lowe’s poor customer service. Since the original review we’ve determined the cooktop was NOT installed correctly. It wasn’t secured to the countertop and is moving when used. Another problem that we’ll no doubt have to solve on our own."
