"During past visits to Blowing Rock we have toured this beautiful men’s clothing store to take stock of the high-quality brands. Unfortunately, this visit was a true Twilight-Zone experience requiring great effort not to walk out several times. Maybe we did not fit the mold of their typical well-healed cliental as we were dressed for the unseasonably hot weather in tee-shirts and shorts? One can only assume this explains the service we received. Having a few minutes before our lunch date, we stopped in a quick overview of hopeful options to ponder, then told the owner we would return after lunch. A snarky dismissive “Yea, I’ve heard that before” was his response; that certainly did not encourage a return visit on our part, maybe the attitude is why folks do not return! Regardless of the attitude, we were excited with the selections; therefore, we decided to returned after lunch. In selecting shirts, we found many wonderful possibilities to try; unfortunately, this was when the owner firmly stated we could try on only ONE shirt per brand to check the fit. He would not even allow us to open additional shirts to see if the pattern or color worked in a mirror. The owner stated that would “reduced its value by putting it on a hanger.” It was all very disconcerting and we were very close to walking out, but fortunately for us, after a few locals stopped in to chat and browse, we were eventually ignored by the owner. The friendly banter with the locals only emphasized that for friendly helpful service, one must plan to arrive in your best country club attire; otherwise, you should expect to feel a bit like Julie Roberts in Pretty Woman on her first shopping trip! Being ignored did gave us the opportunity to quietly open and try on a couple additional shirts, which we did purchase! However, most of the hopeful possibilities went back on the shelf unopened, untried, and unpurchased; his loss. In the end we still left with a very large purchase of several shirts and a few other items, at which point the owner became quite friendly, I expect to safe face as he was making a large sale in front of the other customers. This shop has been in business a long time so they must do well. I expect if they dropped the unfriendly dismissive attitude and provided positive attention to all customers without making assumptions based on appearance it would certainly improve their bottom line. It remains uncertain if we will return on the next trip, regardless of the merchandise, since the whole experience left a very bad taste. AND, we received the exact OPPOSITE experience at the next men’s shop just up the street. Their sales person was welcoming and friendly, he happily opened the shirts FOR us, put them on hangers, and brought them to the dressing room for us to try on…it was amazing and only emphasized just how awful the experience we received earlier truly was! We bought several more fun shirts at the second shop and will certainly begin there on our next trip!"

"Be very careful what you buy. There are no refunds! We were visiting the area for a wonderful weekend and my wife bought me an expensive jacket as a surprise. Unfortunately, it was not a good fit. We went back for a refund but were told it was exchange only. We didn't really want anything else, but when I pointed out how consumer unfriendly this was, the merchant basically said, 'Tough, this is how we've always done it and everyone in this town does it'. Found out from the Chamber of Commerce that it is not a local or oft-used policy. This no exchange policy was not clearly advertised when my wife made the purchase, nor was she told verbally, as is often done when buying a sale item or something unusual. When I pointed out this lack of disclosure to the merchant, he showed me the notice on the bottom of our receipt. Sure enough in small print this policy was stated. But meaningless as you only get the receipt after your purchase, when it is already too late!! For expensive high quality goods go to a place with high quality customer service, not this place! "I recently had the pleasure of visiting this clothing store that I must say exceeded all of my expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was blown away by the amazing selection of men's clothing that they had on offer. The store had a wide range of options, from classic suits to casual wear, but what really caught my eye was their incredible selection of Jack of Spades clothing. I have always been a fan of Jack of Spades, and this store had everything I could ever want from the brand. The selection of Jack of Spades clothing was impressive, with everything from jackets to jeans, and everything in between. The quality of the clothing was exceptional, with each piece made from the finest materials and crafted to perfection. But it wasn't just the selection of Jack of Spades clothing that impressed me. The store had a great range of other men's clothing as well, with something to suit every taste and style. The staff were also incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, providing great advice on which pieces would suit me best. Overall, I can't recommend this store highly enough. If you're looking for a great selection of men's clothing, especially Jack of Spades, then this is definitely the place to go. The quality of the clothing is exceptional, the range of options is impressive, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I will definitely be back!"

"I always check out this store when I go into Blowing Rock. They have some truly amazing clothing lines that they carry - both for men & women but I’d say it appears to have more clothes for men. Truly some unique items."
