"How rare it is in these times to come across a medical office such as this one, with a group of doctors and staff who collectively treat a patient with this much care and compassion. I am so grateful for the experience my family had here, and won’t soon forget it. Much thanks to The Weiss doctors!"
"There are two divisions at this practice: nutritional infusions and medical infusions. I was treated on the medical side, so my review has nothing to do with the nutritional side directed by Dr. Jeffrey Weiss. I was treated for a staph skin infection and based on the outcome which was the result of poor judgement on behalf of the physician who treated me, I would recommend that anyone with a skin infection not seek treatment here. The staff were very professional and the facility was clean and comfortable. I have no doubt that many patients have been effectively treated here. My issue with the practice is the lack of understanding of skin infections and the way they must be treated. Lesions/sores/boils need to be excised (cut out), as well as treated with either oral or intravenous antibiotics. Instead, I was told that IV treatment would eliminate the need for excision. My veteran primary care doctor whom I saw after my treatment here said that is not the case. Any lesion larger than a pea must be excised because there is no guarantee that antibiotics will penetrate it. This is what went wrong with my treatment: lesions were not excised which allowed bacteria to survive the treatment. Simply giving one IV antibiotics for 2 to 3 weeks and proclaiming a patient cured based on bacterial culture test results is no guarantee that the infection is over. Before antibiotic treatment these tests are fairly reliable; afterwards they become extremely unreliable. The belief that skin infection is always visible to the naked eye is also medically incorrect. Furuncles, pockets of infection below the surface of the skin, can be hidden from sight. Therefore a patient who appears well may still be infected. Symptoms such as itching, burning, and aching are indicators of continuing infection and must not be dismissed as irrelevant. I would recommend that anyone with a skin infection seek treatment at a medical group which has multiple specialties represented and where all doctors have immediate access to their patients records, such as Summit Medical Group. A skin infection requires a Primary Care physician, a Dermatologist, an Infectious Disease Specialist, and possibly a General Surgeon. With a team of physicians, one has a much greater chance of a successful outcome. What Infectious Disease Specialists do not tell their patients is that if a skin infection spreads too much and survives too many rounds of antibiotic therapy, it can become a lifelong illness. A skin infection can cause debilitating pain; having one for life is a very serious matter. The mistakes made here cost me 2 3/4 years of my life and tens of thousands of dollars. I have a medical records to back up everything I am writing. This is not a negative review; it is simply a factual one. I needed a team approach which involved several specialties in order to overcome my infection. Summit Medical Group is a practice which offers a such a team environment in which multiple providers can collaborate effectively in order to optimize their patients' chances of recovery. The Dermatology Institute and Laser Center, Dr. Adriana Ros, also played a critical role in my recovery. Dr. Ros saved me from becoming catastrophically ill and kept me out of the hospital, so that I could complete my treatment at Summit Medical Group."
"Dr Jeffrey Weiss is an incredible Doctor. He is empathetic and caring. He is attentive to the patients and works very hard to integrate alternative medicine with the medical world. He is consistently looking to research and learn about new and upcoming options to help his patients deal with myriads of issues. I am highly impressed and very pleased with him"
