""Disappointing Lack of Professionalism" My experience with Dr. Viola Frankel was deeply disappointing. When my daughter Angela was at her most vulnerable, hospitalized for intended suicide, Dr. Frankel refused to continue her care without offering any alternatives or support. It's disheartening to see such lack of compassion and professionalism in the field of psychiatry."
"Just wanted to say thank you to Dr. Frenkel for her help and understanding the last 6 -7 years. I have nothing but good to say about the entire experience, and the help that was provided. She truly cares, I felt the connection the first time I meet with her, and it was such a relief to have someone like Violina to lean on and help me move forward. To those who read these reviews, there are always going to be negative people who live in that world and write awful things about others. I can say that finding a doctor like Violina Frenkel for most can turn out to be a mighty task. Her level of treatment, sessions where we talked, and developing the right medication plan have all been positive for me. Due to some changes in my life, I have found it necessary for me to try and move on. Saying goodbye to Dr. Frenkel yesterday was like losing a friend. She assured me that she will always be there for me if needed, gave me some positive thinks to remember, and wished me the best. I think that is all anyone of us could ask of a doctor. She comes highly recommended in my view, one special person and a very helpful and courteous staff. Stay well and god bless! John M"
"Dr Frenkel is an excellent psychiatrist and physician. She is extremely knowledgeable in her field and across the board in medicine . I suffer from a very rare neurological disease and she treats me in a whole when managing my care not just my mental health needs; although clearly that is what she attends to diligently . She always listens very attentively to my concerns and every appointment inquires to how I’m doing in general and in regard to my medications and treatment . She involves me in my care 100% and addresses my mental health with both medication and a holistic approach. She is beyond understanding, genuine, compassionate, and trustworthy. In addition, her office staff is excellent. They all will diligently help whether it is making you a new appointment that fits your schedule or calling your pharmacy personally to refill or deal with a prescription issue . I have dealt mostly with Gloria and she is outstanding! I have recommended friends and family to Integrative Behavioral Care and they now are treated by the nurse practitioners in the group and they are extremely happy with their care."
"I have been seeing Nurse Lyuba for several years and she has been amazing until Dr. Frankel decided to insert herself without any prior knowledge of me. Since then, Frankel has created a disaster and has empowered the office staff to question and belittle each time I request a refill. I suffer from three conditions that require a specific medication. If a patient suffers from one of the three conditions the FDA sets a guideline for a specific dosage of daily medication but also states it is dependent upon the patient's needs. There are no FDA dosage guidelines if a patient suffers from multiple conditions, and this should be where the FDA states it is dependent upon the patient's needs. Apparently, Frankel views the daily dosage of the medication I had be taking, and I was feeling the best I have in years, and makes a decision to reduce the dosage by half. No discussion, no explanation, just 50% reduction. Think about the affects if your medication had been suddenly cut in half. Then a couple of months later Frankel decides without any explanation to totally eliminate another medication. So, for almost a year I have been struggling with the limited medication. The website states they will "implement the most comprehensive treatment plan for each patient." How does a comprehensive treatment plan for each patient align with Frankel reviewing medication dosages and reducing them without any knowledge of the patient, except the dosage amount? Well, in short, it is not possible to provide an individualized treatment plan when actions as such are taken. Multiple times I have emailed the refills mailbox and received a response that I have not been taking the medication requested or I have not been taking the dosage requested. My response has been that I have been taking the medication and will gladly provide the emails where it has previously been approved. They respond that we would never approve, and no email documentation is required because I have not been taking the medication. Would I know the medication that I have been prescribed better than someone reading the refills email? Especially, when I have the previous emails and the prescription bottle. How does this help when dealing with such a narrow minded individual? Then there is Michael in billing. I had a session on a Tuesday, paid the bill Wednesday and received an email from him two days after paying that I have an outstanding balance. I informed him that I called the office and paid a specific person the day after the session. A short time later he responds that he contacted the person that I had spoken with to make payment and had verified that I had actually made the payment as I stated. Pretty much calling me a liar and needed verification. How about reviewing your payment records rather than contact someone to determine whether my statement was truthful or not. I have had monthly sessions since 2018 and paying the session fee one day after the session is the longest, I have been without making a payment. I am currently seven days without a certain medication, feel terrible, and no closer to having it refilled even though the pharmacy, insurance company and I have all reached out. Due to what I consider negligence on the part of Frankel, I have had to reduce and/or eliminate medications to minimize the side effects that were manageable prior to the reduction in other medications. My plan was to continue work for a couple more years, but with the medication debacle I am unable to perform at my personal standards and have no other options but to retire early. A couple of months before Frankel inserted herself a close friend ask how I have been feeling. Responded this is the best I have felt in years, little did I know that I would soon be Frankelized. "Dr. Frenkel is an absolutely remarkable professional! It's not easy to find a psychiatrist who has the depth and breadth of her knowledge and pays compassionate attention to patients' experience and needs. She stays abreast of the newest research for innovative treatments, uses both traditional and holistic approaches, and conveys an understanding of the patient as a whole; her easy manner, thorough weighing of treatment choices, accessibility, attention to detail, and prompt responses, makes her the psychiatrist I refer my clients to - I know that I can trust her to listen to patients, giving them the time they need to feel heard and considered as individuals. Her caring manner truly helps them to not lose hope through what can be a very difficult emotional road, making changes when necessary with the patients' process in mind. She truly integrates her approach and is dedicated to finding the best treatments for her patients. I am very glad I found her! She is unique in her highly professional and personal manner. I have to also say that her office staff is so kind and professional - I mainly speak with Gloria and she is great! I highly recommend her!"
