"If you’re thinking of working here I do not recommend it. In terms of culture it is very toxic. I was an entry level employee and I was treated with disrespect in front of coworkers and even clients. You will be overworked because they are under staffed and you will be underpaid. During my time I witnessed nothing less than terrible patient relations. If you call to reach a doctor about your medication being late for example, you will be redirected to their overwhelmed part-time assistant. If the assistant is not available (which is more likely) then you must leave a voicemail. The doctors refuse to answer patient phone calls directly or at all. I witnessed people calling in several times in a week without having been able to speak to the doctor and were late on their medication. Upcoming appointments were not set and clients were also going to miss their medications due to this negligence. I was continually contacted by clients wondering why thy never received a confirmation email for their next appointment. I understand that it is very difficult to find mental health care. However, an environment like this office where you can clearly witness its employees in mental distress is not a good place to get help."
"I wish this company met my expectations, but they did not. The therapists lack knowledge about certain disorders, which is unacceptable as mental health providers. There was also a reaction made by a therapist here, which I deem unprofessional. I did not feel like my experience was adequate and I’d advise anyone to look elsewhere."
"Deep Concerns Regarding Unfair Practices and Hasty Diagnosis in Psychiatric Evaluation I recently sought psychiatric evaluation services from Cooperative Counseling Services for my special-needs child, with the unfortunate experience of encountering what I believe to be an alarming example of unfair practice within the field. My child was evaluated by Udenma O., who, regrettably, arrived at a diagnosis after a single session, without making an earnest attempt to understand her unique circumstances and needs. The process seemed to lack empathy and depth, and it deeply worries me about the potential impact on other children facing similar evaluations. Despite my efforts to interject and clarify my child's responses during the evaluation, it appeared that Ms. O. was more focused on following a predetermined script than on genuinely engaging with my child's individual situation. This approach raises concerns about the validity of the diagnosis she provided after just one session. It is particularly disconcerting considering the gravity of the situation and the potential lifelong impact of such a diagnosis. I found Ms. O.'s language skills and empathy to be subpar, failing to meet the standard of care one would expect from a professional in this field. What is more concerning is the possibility that the company itself may either endorse or overlook these practices. The repeated reminders of my child's special needs seemed to fall on deaf ears, further highlighting the apparent lack of sensitivity to the nuances of evaluating individuals with unique challenges. While I acknowledge the presence of capable therapists within the organization, the lack of caution and sensitivity displayed by Ms. O. raises serious doubts about the establishment's ability to provide equitable and beneficial services. The experience has compelled me to question their readiness to support children with special needs, let alone those without disabilities. It's disheartening that a single session could lead to such a potentially life-altering diagnosis. The fact that Ms. O. subsequently suggested medication and immediate hospitalization underscores the urgency of reevaluating their approach and practices. This "assembly line psychology" approach fails to account for the complexities of mental health assessment and places vulnerable individuals at risk. Furthermore, my attempt to address this issue with higher management resulted in a response that merely cited adherence to "proper protocol." It is perplexing that such protocols would not be subject to scrutiny when they have the potential to negatively impact a child's future well-being and mental health. I am left wondering who formulates these protocols and why they seemingly disregard the potential harm they may inflict. My aim in sharing this experience is not only to seek redress for my child's unfair diagnosis but also to caution others who may consider utilizing psychiatric evaluation services from this company. While they may appear to be a more affordable option or one that insurances that are not widely accepted by more elevated and consumate professionals, are accepted here, the potential consequences of hasty diagnoses must not be underestimated. I believe that the responsible action would have been to rectify the situation by reversing the diagnosis. Regrettably, the need for this review arises from the company's reluctance to address the issue adequately. It is my hope that by sharing this narrative, other parents will be vigilant and proactive when engaging with psychiatric evaluation services and will consider recording sessions to ensure clarity and accountability, as well as close supervision by parents, prefferably both, while fending for your children very skillfully to avoid, prove and/or reverse a potentially harmful sutuation such as mine. We immediately took our child to the hospital and she was cleared of any mental health issue by the psychiatrist on call. Ccs keeps having our comment deleted, I hope google realizes this company is being deceptive..."
