"Since I enrolled my kids in this school I have seen improvements in their academic performance. They can now read well. The school's staff and teachers are friendly and approachable. I would recommend this school."
"I have worked at BSNBCS for 6 years and seen many of its transformative events and people. It would be hard for me to write about how students or parents feel. As an employee, I can say a few things about the staff and the organization: 1. The staff is driven. People here have always done their best to make a difference and there are very few teachers that come through here with the wrong attitude. 2. The principals are motivated to see the school continue to improve. Our approach and resources were not always the best, but have improved dramatically with the arrival of the new administration 3 years ago. 3. The pay is competitive with most charter schools and is generally better than comparable public schools. The benefits are quite good and are extremely flexible with regards to how much you pay and what you want out of them. I get a fantastic match on my 401k, money toward student loans (which I could have used to pay for a wide range of options), flexible health insurance, and several other options that I was able to enable or not. 4. The students and families we serve appreciate good teaching and a teacher's best intentions. They will usually go to great lengths to meet the school's expectations, despite personal difficulty. No school is perfect and there is still room for growth on all fronts. However, it is worth saying that I have recently moved and my commute time and cost has doubled. Still, I want to stay here because its a great place to work, I love what I do here, and the people I do it with."
"The staff at this school are so disrespectful. Only reason I’m giving it two stars is because of a lady Ms Saunders. Earlier about 3 weeks ago a kid was told to shut up by a lady named Ms London maybe. She was being very intolerable and rude to him. At some point, he got Fed up and yelled at her with the most loudest voice , again she shouldn’t of told him to shut up to begin with, but was he said was a little rude. She literally lied and said he cursed at her when all he did was yell at her telling her that it’s disrespectful she can get fired for it and she’s “mad annoying” and she lied to the deans or principal and said he was cursing and he literally got in trouble. But then, this lovely lady Ms Saunders I was walking past her room around 9 AM and she had a 6th grade class, 6B I think it was and she was pretty funny and was very respectful to her students, no one was rude to her nor was she rude to anyone. At some point they were leaving, and yes, I was looking in there for about 10 minutes she put on “Level Up” and let everyone have fun before going. I am to believe that she was a Social Studies teacher for middle school, but this lady made my day. Overall 3 stars for ms Saunders but Ms Vincent was really rude by telling people to “Shut up or Shut their mouths”"
"My children attends this school but sadly to say the will not return for september, I rather deal with public school. There teachers and staff is very unprofessional and rude. The deans needs to be properly trained to handle certain situations and kids. The main office staff needs more training. Some of the teacher need to be FIRED!! This school building been in the Bedford Stuyvesant Community for Decades and its simply going down the drain. Its truly an shame."
"They worry about minute things like belts, socks and shoes with a pinch of color over education which is why their test score are so low. They do not acknowledge any child's academic shortcomings until they passed teaching the subject and move on to others. They're never prepared for anything EVER. These fools even had a fire drill during a pm parent teacher conference as if they need anymore confusion going on in that place. All my other complaints been covered on every other recent review esp that post about bullying. You'd think they'll take it more seriously since kids are committing suicide but I guess they are focusing on more minute things to harass a parent over"
