"Had an awful experience in the office in December 2022. I chose Dr. Patel because the office is closed to where I live. I called and informed the office that I wanted to bring my son for annual checkup in advance. On the date of the visit, I told the receptionist and Dr. Patel that my son came for annual checkup. Nobody told me that the first visit can not be billed as annual checkup but comprehensive visit. My insurance company will cover annual checkup but not comprehensive visit before I meet the deductible requirement. For a brief visit of less than 5 minutes, I received a bill of $140 for comprehensive visit. I called the office on 4/27/2023, I was told by the receptionist that it is their office policy that the first visit can not be annual checkup. If this is the case how come nobody told me when I scheduled the appointment for annual checkup, or when I was in the office? I am very upset that I received the bill that I was not supposed to pay for! I called to schedule annual checkup because I knew that my son had his last annual checkup more than 12 months ago. I provided my insurance information in advance. Isn’t the office supposed to check with my insurance company to see if my son is due for annual checkup if i specifically asked for annual checkup when I made the appointment? As a patient and customer, don’t I have the right to request what kind of service I want? Don’t I have the right to know that my son was going to billed for comprehensive visit even if I asked for annual check up? It is ridiculous that two visits are required for annual checkup. First visit for comprehensive visit, then second visit for annual check up. My son had a few different Pediatricians, first visit always started with annual checkup. Not an issues at all. I understand that difference offices have difference policies. Is it too difficulty for the office to inform me that comprehensive visit is required before annual check up? If I knew I wouldn’t schedule the appointment at all."

"So many things to like about this office. Parking lot in back, office conveniently located on Richmond Avenue, weekend hours. The office has never been busy. Wait time has not exceeded longer then 5 minutes. Dr. Patel has an exceptional bedside manner & is always available in case of emergencies. Such a wonderful person & Doctor. So glad I chose to use her for my daughter."
