Reviews of Catherine's Farm to Table
"The reason for the 4 star review is because my chicken was cooked enough to be a shingle on a roof. It tasted like it sat under a heat lamp for awhile. It was still very flavorful and tasted great. Other than that this restaurant is great. When prices are high I tend to be more harsh on my review. If you’re spending big bucks on food it should be perfect. I would eat here again for sure. The owner taking action bumped this review to 5 stars. Thank you"
"Had such high hopes and unfortunately we were left disappointed. The appetizers were very tasty but we ordered steaks and they just couldn't pull it together. I did the KC strip, wanted it med-rare and they over cooked it. Also, it looked a bit anemic, strips should have substance to their girth. I can honestly say I've never had a steak before that looked like it was on a diet. The short rib bolognese was a bit salty and the filet mignon (we ordered medium well), and it came back so rare we thought it mite mooo. I'd think of giving it a second chance if it wasn't so pricey. There's nothing wrong with paying top dollar for food, but it has to be cooked to order and taste right."
"This location has hosted various restaurants over the years. We saw the name and thought "fresh, healthy food." The Tuna Tartare app was really good. I will say that. The rest, not so good. Here is what you should know before going in. Our waitress was kind of clueless. Instead of peering over to see I needed a water refill, she was busy prepping tables for diners that wouldn't be arriving until the next day (we were there for a late dinner). During peak hours, it is loud. Patrons can bring their own alcohol and apparently many of them did. The acoustics made it sound like everyone had overserved themselves and were all talking at the same time. So, atmosphere? Bare white walls - I guess that is the "farm" component. The portions are rather small. You will need to order lots of appetizers or just go ahead and order two expensive plates. I got the swordfish, which was just OK, but I was told it came with sweet potatoes. Technically, it did. There was a decorative tiny swirl of it on the outer rim of half the plate. I'm not cheap when it comes to going to restaurants, but I spent $39 on a "dinner" and left the place starving. I went home and made myself some pasta. This place is trying really hard to be upscale dining, but is not even on the main strip in this small town and is 70 miles from Smith and Wollensky in NYC. Tiny menu, big prices. I don't think this restaurant will last in this location either."
"If you’re looking for your new local spot, this is it. You definitely get the cozy, family dinner vibes eating here. The staff is kind, attentive and personable; owners are always around to make sure you’re having the best dining experience. The food is phenomenal, definitely not something you can get anywhere else with these unique flavors and combinations. Everything is fresh, locally sourced. It’s BYO here and the best part is there’s a parking lot right across the street! If you haven’t tried it here yet, you’re missing out. If you’re a local, definitely put in for standing reservations because this place books up fast!"
"Everything was delicious! We started the night with the special crab cake, the rock shrimp, the burrata appetizer and the bread with the homemade butter which were all to die for. I ordered the lobster rigatoni, the pasta couldn’t have been cooked more perfectly with the lobster which was tasty and enjoyable. The scallops were devoured quickly, being cooked and seasoned to delicious perfection. The steak dinner was ordered as well and I quote “was probably the best steak I ever had”. The dinner was outstanding and don’t forget about the amazing sides which were the Brussel sprouts and broccolini. The service and other staff paid attention to detail, all welcoming, and friendly to our party. Definitely returning soon."
