"Many years ago, my daughter that is now 14 was being seen by Dr. Nathan. She was only a few months old at the time. She was experiencing diarrhea for many days. I took her to Dr. Nathan several times. His treatment was to only give her Pedialyte and stop her formula. After several visits and insisting that something else be done because she still had the diarrhea, he blamed me. He said that I was overfeeding her the Pedialyte and that I should only give her 2 oz at a time every 2 hours. I thought this was insane. She was losing fluids and not having any replaced. On a Saturday, she had her episode of diarrhea with blood. I immediately called the answering service. When he called me back, he basically said that it was the weekend and there was nothing he could do. I was livid! The next day, she again had diarrhea, but this time with lots of blood. My husband and I immediately scooped our daughter and drove as fast as we could to the emergency room. My daughter was immediately brought in and sent for emergency x-rays to rule out a blockage. Fortunately, the x-rays were negative. Long-story short, they called Dr. Nathan for approval to have her admitted for monitoring, but he refused. I never took my daughter back to him. As a mother, I knew something was wrong, but he never tried to listen. Immediately, I made an appointment with a pediatric gastroenterologist who ordered specialized testing. The tests revealed that my daughter had a protein allergy causing colitis and diarrhea. By simply changing her formula, her issues were resolved. I never write reviews and it took me many years to write one, but I feel it is only fair for parents to be aware."
