"Facilities looked very nice and clean. They have doggie cams and treats. Unfortunately, the customer service was lacking and the follow through was poor. We were in town for a few days and had created an account and registered 2 weeks before and let them know the dates we'd be there. When we arrived, the attendant said we weren't scheduled for an interview and could not accommodate us. It was a back and forth that led to nothing. You would think that if you tell someone a date, they'd schedule you or ask if you'd like to schedule an interview. Protocol wasn't clear. Reply added 1/3/24: Thank you for your feedback. I think it's commendable you defend your staff; however, you are missing the point. If the issue was the missing vaccines, we had them on hand that day and let the staff know. The bigger issue here is the lack of follow-through before we entered the facility/Lolai's stay. Lolai was not just "dropped off" at other doggy daycares. Their requirements were similar if not the same as Camp Bow Wow's. The difference in our experience with them that we found lacking this time around with Camp Bow Wow was communication and support with the pre-interview process (e.g., setting up an interview), especially since we're not from the area. The extra mile would've been nice. Thankfully we did have a pleasant stay and figured it out."
"Headline: they starved my dog for four days and the manager would not take my call. I was excited to see another boarding option opened up in Hoboken, as other doggie daycares in the area don't have on-site boarding. I brought my dog to try out daycare on 3 different days and he seemed to have a great time. So when I had to go out of town, I felt confident leaving him there for 4 nights and 4 days. Their online portal only has a lunch and dinner field so I added the full feeding schedule to the notes. He gets 1/3 wet can and 1/4 cup kibble for each meal three times a day. Since he only gets lunch and dinner during daycare (vs when he's overnight and also gets breakfast), the woman at the reception manually updated the feeding instructions. When I dropped him off for boarding, I discussed the change back to the original instructions and included a hand written list detailing his meals for boarding. I left food for 4 full days: 4 cans of wet food and 3 cups of kibble. When I picked him up, I got back 3 cans of wet food and a cup of kibble. I asked the staff what happened and the woman could only attest to what she did when she fed him. I asked for the manager to please call me. Not only did the manager not call me, but when I called the next day he was unavailable. A short while later I received an email from the manager, Ken Myers, where he proceeded to blame me and tell me that I gave them incorrect instructions. Clearly, I'm never sending my dog back there. Camp Bow Wow, here's some parting advice: 1. Pretend to care that you starved my dog for 4 days 2. Be professional and call me to discuss this matter 3. Take accountability"
"We really wanted to love Camp Bow Wow as it all sounded great online and their Instagram makes it look super fun, but unfortunately it wasn't for us. We brought our 7 month old golden puppy here for his interview / first day and after introducing him to two dogs they just threw him right into the large breed play yard where 22 OTHER DOGS were playing - 22 dogs! We actually watched another dog lash out at him on the cameras and when we picked him up there was a scratch on his face. No one notified us of this or even said anything when we picked him up. We watched multiple dogs getting humped & peeing on the floors on the cameras while the camp counselor did nothing. I'm not sure if we just got a bad day, but 22 dogs all in one space with no walks, toys, attention from humans, etc. seems like a recipe for disaster. Unfortunately it just wasn't the right environment for a young dog and we will be going somewhere else."
"Camp Bow Wow has been our preferred place for doggy daycare after trying another local Hoboken business (Playful Paws). We enjoy that we are able to view live feed of our dog’s activities, confirming that she is well cared for throughout the day. We have had no issues since joining!"
"We love Camp Bow Wow! The staff is so friendly and kind. They always remember my dog Loki and we only come to Camp Bow Wow on occasion when we will be away from home for a long time. It is so clean! I always check up on my pup via the cameras. The staff is always making sure the area is clean and the dogs are happy! They even make sure to give my little guy a break when he needs one. This week they had pictures with Santa and they came out AMAZING! I recommend Camp Bow Wow to all my friends. I feel so comfortable leaving my baby in their care. He always comes home happy and exhausted!"
