"I hope sharing my experience helps other immigrants avoid such situation. Summary: DONT COME HERE. NO VENGAN ACÁ. Worst place ever, my mom took an ESL course here and she learned nothing at all. "Professor" (if I can call him that) had no idea about teaching or about English theory AT ALL (he'd never actually explain, he'd just give vague answers). Course was almost 500 hundred plus the Book for a class consisting of just reading a book, answering the questions of the book and that is it; when choosing the class I as a Paramus student thought this place would be as good as Paramus. When I helped my mother and asked the ppl at the front who teaches the ESL courses and if they are actual professors with education, the lady just said she didn't know... such a red flag that we missed. I could go on and on on how this institution failed me and, in my opinion (And I remark, OPINION), BCC took advantage of my mother as an immigrant, shameless; one of the best parts is they offer esl courses in the evening FOR FREE to immigrants and they never offered them in the many times we went there to ask questions.. Ps: This place has NOTHING to do with Paramus location, and I mean it."

"Great place to learn English. They have great teachers. Good prices and tons of helpful activities to practice English. The classes are very comfortable."

"A perfect place to learn English as a second language from the beginning. The facilities are very comfortable, the teachers are excellent and the price is reasonable. The institute performs many recreational activities that allow you to practice English in the best way, such as cultural activities and concerts. If you are one of the best students, they will highlight you on the list of excellence. This place is a good start to continue studies at the Bergen Community College. I had a very good experience here with colleagues from all over the world."

"This has been the worst education experience we have encountered so far in my whole life. The quality of English education is beyond poor in Bergen Com. College (Hackensack branch). My wife is an ESL learner and her teacher is complaining to the class that she cannot understand what they are saying. She speaks fast and expect students to understand her with the excuse of being a New Yorker :) It is like joke. You are an instructor and need to adjust your teaching based on the level of your students. Every single student hates the teacher and no one is willing to participate after her discouraging comments. The second teacher was average but not a teacher who is doing his job willingly. I believe the college is hiring teachers who are cheap workers. Not recommended at all. My wife attended three different levels and total waste of over $1000. Stay away!"
