"If this is the right location, I do not recommend. I had a terrible experience before I walked through the door. On my way towards the store (to purchase a bouquet) I notice a lady outside taking photos. I stayed out of her way so she could finish her photos. MULTIPLE CUSTOMERS were walking out of the store as she was trying to take a photo. Instead of waiting while the CUSTOMERS LEAVE . She tells the CUSTOMER “Get out the way”. She repeats that multiple times to multiple customers. And as one customer walks out she says “ it’s public property” with a confused face. The lady taking the photo replied “ I am the owner so…” implying that since she’s the owner she can speak to anyone that way. At that very moment she has lost 6 paying customers and who knows who else heard the interaction. The world deserves to hear this situation. Also, race may not play a part but the “owner” was a white women while the CUSTOMER was a Asian women. And as a Women of color I cannot tolerate any type of disrespect to our community."
"It was a real pleasure working with Ashley at Damselfly. She executed my vision even more than I could expect! Additionally the prices were reasonable comparatively. Thanks so much Ashley"
"Our experience at the store was pretty awesome. All our questions about the flowers/plants, and their care were answered at length. The people working here really care about the plants as much as they care about their customers! I left super satisfied with the purchases I made and I highly recommend this flower shop for all occasions!"
"I work in the creative industry and was very uncomfortable with handing over a creative decision as important as my wedding bouquet to a complete stranger. I was also getting married in January and wanted some VERY specific flowers that were not exactly in season. Evidently, I didn’t have any luck finding an ideal florist after scavenging the whole NYC flower industry. The typical flower shops were either too expensive or the florist was too snobbish to let me decide what flower goes into the bouquet. I’m so glad that I found Bastille. I wanted to pick out the flowers myself and take part in the design of the bouquet, but i can’t do it if the florist is closed on Sunday(Monday city hall wedding), or if the florist isn’t willing to order the flowers for me a couple days in advance. Thankfully Andrew at Bastille was knowledgeable, empathetic and accommodating when I approached the store a week before my wedding, desperate and stressed out. He showed me the selection of flowers that could be ordered. In the following week we communicated via email and I was updated with what flowers were available and when the flowers arrived at the store. On our appointment the day before my wedding, Andrew was again very patient, very professional and spent an hour with me creating the bouquet to my exact liking. Instead of a crazy flat-fee for so-called “bridal bouquet” that most flower stores quote, I was charged based on the flowers that actually went into the bouquet. I would highly recommend Bastille if you want something beyond a traditional round bridal bouquet for your wedding. I couldn’t be happier with mine. Photo credit: Cynthia Lee Photography"
"I couldn't be happier with my experience at Bastille Flowers in Chelsea Market. I walked into Chelsea Market the evening before my City Hall Wedding, in search of some flowers that I could use as a bouquet. After hearing that they normally need at least 24 hours notice to create a wedding bouquet, I was crushed and thought I would have to make do with the half-wilted roses that they offer at the Marriage Bureau. The woman working that evening was so nice to me (probably could sense the look of panic on my face) and asked me a few questions about what I was looking for and said she would see what she could do. In the end, they were able to accommodate me and create this beautiful custom bouquet and had it ready for me to pick up early in the morning before getting married. When I got it, it was even more beautiful than I expected. And as added bonus, it was much cheaper than I was expecting to have to pay for my wedding bouquet. The value of this product and the people who work here is so great, and it helped to make my wedding even more perfect than I could have imagined."
