"We took the Blue route. Almost a straight line. The blue route is almost 3 miles one way. Marker just stops, we went a bit further to make sure no more blue marker and then just back track. There are two parking area. Nice walk/hike, saw some people/w dogs and cyclists, all were friendly."
"Peaceful and serenity defines this place well. Benches located through-out, but wish there were more for the disabled like me. I still thoroughly enjoy this nature preserve the best! It's a place to experience nature that's not far from home. There are guided tours with Friends of Black Run Preserve with the appreciated ambassadors. Check it out!"
"Large natural preserve with various trails. A great deal of variety from water (smaller lakes and ponds) to hard-pack trails to sand or light stone pathways. Trails are on both sides of the street. Parking is on both sides as well. Trails are fairly well marked with benches in some locations. Would recommend using the QR code for the online maps."
"This trail leads you directly to a beautiful bog full of blooming water lilies. And you can see the magical works of a beaver, who cut off the trail to build a beaver dam and a nice "pond". This is my MUST-SEE spot every time I come hiking at Black Run Preserve. Check out some of my photos and videos."
"Great trail options, nature and scenery. We first visited in the fall and it was stunning (pictures are from October/November). I recommend good walking shoes you don’t mind getting a bit dirty. There are some established concrete paths and wooden pieces but the best trails are dirt paths. If it’s been raining expect some muddy areas. We’ve seen deer a few times and many birds and hawks. Definitely my favorite park for hikes."
