"It's been a while since my cat came back from the Veterinary Emergency Group in Hoboken on Jan. 12th, 2024. However, I still wanna take a moment to express my sincere appreciation to all the vets and staff there!! Dr. Ho performed the operation on my cat and he was able to be discharged in less than two days. Dr. Ho and Flynn were extremely patient when I was scared and worried. During my cat's stay at the ER, they kept me informed via texts which really comforted me (they even moved my car to a quieter room for him to relax!) All my questions were answered by the vets and staff. I believe no one wants to see their fur babies being ill/hurt but, if you ever unfortunately need a pet ER, I would highly suggest here."
"Still trying to process the loss of our beloved Yorkie Rafa but from the moment I ran through the door on Sunday evening you cleared the decks and gave him all of your attention and resources. Dr. Tusa and the whole team made it clear to us how critical his condition was from the start and handled the entire situation with sensitivity and sincerity. You gave Rafa every chance to survive with your dedication. And you worked around me in an emergency situation to ensure that I could be with Rafa through his last hours. When we realized it was cruel to keep him alive you supported me through the process and I'll always appreciate the conversation that Dr.Tusa had with me as I held Rafa after he'd passed. I truly wish the outcome could have been different but I am grateful to you and your team for making his last moments as comfortable as possible. It was patently clear to me that you are genuine animal lovers. Thank you"
"Dear Dr. Flynn and team, I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for the incredible care you provided to my beloved pet, Dexter. Your expertise, compassion, and dedication truly made a difference in his well-being. I am so thankful for the personalized attention and the exceptional level of care he received from your team. Thank you for going above and beyond to ensure that Dexter received the best possible treatment. Your professionalism and kindness have made a lasting impression on me and my furry companion. I am truly blessed to have you as our veterinary care providers."
"I’ve visited VEG 3 times now, and I’d like to thank everyone who took care of my cat Ming last night. These beautiful ladies worked tirelessly all through the night - on Thanksgiving, no less - providing us with the highest care and attention, especially at a time when Ming and I were both very scared. For context, on Thanksgiving yesterday Ming suddenly had trouble breathing, wasn’t eating or drinking, and was vomiting multiple times. I gave VEG a call to ask for help, and they immediately transferred me to a doctor who gave her advice. (Also, note that they are always available and happy to answer any questions on the phone, even without requiring an in-person examination.) Once I brought Ming in, we were taken to the back room right away for an examination. (I’ll admit that at that time there was only one other person in the waiting room, but I can say from experience that I’ve never had to wait for a vital examination during each of the times I’ve visited.) Ming was difficult - shy, resistant, fussy - but the nurses who helped him were very patient and caring. I witnessed this kind behavior all throughout the night with every animal they worked with - even animals who were very aggressive. I never sensed frustration in their voices. I was never pressured to leave, or to “back off” during exams - they knew that my relationship with Ming was the most important thing, and allowed us to be together as much as possible during the whole process. At one point, when we decided that it would be best to keep him through the night, they even allowed me to lay across one of the benches, gave me a pillow, and let me cuddle him in my arms while he was hooked up to the IV. In general, I was encouraged to stay as long as I wanted. (and at this point it was 1 AM!) I’ve never had Ming separated from me like this before, and it was a very difficult decision to make to keep him there overnight. However, once I made that decision, I found myself smiling knowing that he would be in such good care by all these loving people - who, again, were here saving lives instead of at home with their families for the holidays. This morning I picked him up and he was in much better health. Dr. Bornkamp patiently answered all of my questions and gave plenty of advice - even sent me home with two packets of Hydra Care supplements on the house. Ming is at home now and feeling much better, and I know that even though the experience was scary for him, he understands and appreciates what the folks at VEG did for him last night and this morning. Payment is understandably difficult at an emergency facility, and I wasn’t in the greatest financial position to cover the bills for the care we received - examination, multiple x-rays, tests, hospitalization, IV, medication - but the doctors were very patient and helped me apply for a CareCredit card to handle the bill. I’m not familiar with how much any of these procedures usually cost on average, but I like to think that all considered, we got a decent deal. I wasn’t exactly one to complain considering that all this excellent care was on a holiday weekend. (Trust me - there were several heartbreaking cases they had to handle that day, one of which I witnessed personally.) All in all, I can wholeheartedly say that your babies are in good hands here. I highly recommend this facility if you are in need of emergency care. Say hi to Dr. Bornkamp for me!"
"I loved the care my dog got. The doctor was awesome. All your staff was awesome as well The only issue I had is pricing. I had a $65 bill for a follow up visit. They changed the bandages on my dog, but I've never been charged for a follow up visit. Not at my vet or any vet I've ever been to. I get that your an emergency vet service, so things are different but can you let people know that follow up visits are going to cost them? Had I known I would have brought my dog to my normal vet for a follow up. All in all, Dora's treatment with you was close to $1100. Which is very high, but the care she received was excellent. So what I'm trying to say is that you're care is a luxury. I wouldn't bring Dora back for anything but an emergency. If there was an emergency though, I know your team would handle it well."
